The KIVI Student Prototype Award could help you create a prototype.
Enter your idea (design/model) and you could win the KIVI Student Prototype Award: 2,500 euro sponsored by KIVI, advice/coaching for setting up a company plan sponsored by YesDelft and the facilities for developing your prototype sponsored by Science Centre Delft. Get your ideas in before 22 October!

Contest Rules
1. Eligibility
The KIVI Student Prototype Competition is open for all students at Delft University of Technology. Competitors can enter as individuals or as team. A student can only participate in one design, product or model either as an individual or as a member of a team. Co-operation with non TU Delft students is possible but must be fully disclosed during registration to determine if the contribution is substantial. If substantial the award entry is not eligible to compete. Students participating in project courses where funds are provided by Delft University of Technology are NOT eligible for this award.  Software is eligible.
2. Registration
Competitors must submit a Kivi registration form before 22 October 2014. Registering obligates to compete and fully disclose their (product) idea. If necessary TU Delft can assist to protect intellectual rights. Be sure to include names and e-mails of your team members.
3. The award
The award consists of an amount of 2,500 euro which can be used for everything that helps by constructing the prototype (including pizza’s). The winning team can use workspace and other facilities at Science Centre Delft, and Yes!Delft offers coaching by writing a business plan.
4. Requirements
Competition entries consist of a written explanation and visual and preferable an example, mock-up or maquette of the (product) idea.
All submitted (product) ideas must be presented at the DIG-it Experience 2014, November 11. The prototype of the winning idea will be exhibited during the DIG-it! Experience 2015.
5. Competition
There will be a Preliminary Round in the competition to accommodate the number of competitors. During the Preliminary Round the jury will select 5 finalists who will enter the Final Round, during the DIG-it! Experience, November 11, 2014. The 5 finalists will give a 3 minute presentation about their product/model/design to a panel of judges. This will be followed by 3 minutes a question/answer session. In the Final Round one model or design will be selected as winner.
6. Judging
Judges will have expertise in engineering, science and business. The criteria used by the judges in the evaluation are:
– Innovation: Is the idea novel?
– Technical design: solid design?
– Functionality
– Market Size: How big is the market for the invention?
– Drive and Ambition of the team
The judges in the final round may also consider other criteria.

 There will be no correspondence regarding the rules, procedure or outcome of the competition.
