Full yoga classes, a busy gym, training till midnight. Sports & Culture is in many ways at the centre of our campus life. The need for more room and facilities was great and the solution is near: this May, the building works for the new Sports&Culture hall take-off. To accommodate the growing number of students, the size of Sports&Culture will extend from 10.000 square meters to 14.000. Roughly a 40% increase by our math, nice. Curious what will change? Read it here!

The new building will be placed between Unit Sport and Unit Culture, connecting the two with a big hallway. This central entrance will give access to all facilities, including the new offerings: a big sports hall, three smaller studio’s, two multifunctional spaces, office space, changing rooms, a concept store, a lab for 2D/3D techniques and ample food & drinks. The extension can be used for multiple purposes: from inspiration centre and meeting room, to big parties!

The current complex will get a sustainable facelift. Furniture and other materials will be recycled and re-used when possible. In May, the building works for the new accommodation officially start. Sports&Culture will stay open throughout the whole operation: the programme will continue as planned when possible. The plan is to complete construction of the new accomodation in September 2017.
