Yet another dreamteam has shown the world the innovative and technical strengths of the students of TU Delft. The Delft Hyperloop team won the Space X Hyperloop competition last weekend. Congrats guys!
29 teams from all over the world participated in the competition held by Elon Musk. They build ‘pods’ for the futuristic concept of Hyperloop, a transport system in which people and goods will travel through tubes with an incredible high speed. After months of preparations and design all teams got the chance to test their pods at SpaceX, Los Angeles, where a tube of 1,25 kilometers was built, trying to achieve the highest speed as possible. During the competition the pod of Delft hyperloop reached a speed of 90 km/h. In longer tubes the prototype should be able to reach up to 1200 km/h. Also the design and construction of the Delft prototype was awarded with the first prize!
