Jamming on campus: part 2

The Gemeente Delft has decided to install permanent traffic lights and make some adjustments at the Jaffalaan-Mekelweg intersection, to ensure safety of all road users and a smooth ride to and from campus. The works will take around two weeks.

De inschrijving voor deelname aan de Nationale DenkTank 2019 is geopend. Ben jij die ambitieuze masterstudent, PhD’er of pas afgestudeerde creatieveling die ze zoeken? Geef je dan op voor de Nationale DenkTank 2019 en heb invloed op het leven van 17 miljoen Nederlanders!

Tohoku University Engineering Summer Program (TESP) Robotics 2019

Dates: 29 July 2019 -9 August 2019

TESP-Robotics is a two-week summer program for graduate students providing a series of graduate level lectures and hands on activities in laboratory. In addition, the program provides cultural activities and a field trip that exposes participants to Japanese culture and beautiful historical sites in the north-eastern area of Japan. Tohoku University Japanese Summer Program (TUJP) 2019

Dates: 1st term: 1 July – 16 July 2019 or 2nd term 22 July – 6 August 2019

For whom: Full-time undergraduate students

TUJP provides students an opportunity to discover Japan through diverse learning experiences in English. The program offers intensive Japanese classes for both beginner and pre-intermediate leaners, topical seminars about Japanese culture and society, various cultural workshops and field trips including a homestay experience.  Check out the programme.

But could such a technology actually create a “Jessica Jones” or replicate the powers of the X-Men? How would this benefit society and should we use the technology for this purpose in the first place?

25 March 2019: minor information market for second year bachelor students. Register now.

Are you going to start with your third bachelor year after the summer? In your next academic year you get the change to specialize within your own field of expertise or broaden your academic knowledge via a minor you are required to follow. As the minor starts in the first semester of your third bachelor year, this is the time to get informed about the possibilities.  At the minor information market you have the opportunity to have face-to-face contact with the minor coordinator and students who have previously completed their minor.

Sign up now via the email you received with a registration link or via de website. There are three time slots 13.30-14.30, 14.45-15.45, and 16.00-17.00 and full is full.

SR and FSR elections

The electing of members of the Student Council (SR) and Student Councils at faculty level (FSR) will take place online via website https://stem.tudelft.nl on Tuesday 21 May 2019 from 8.00 a.m. and Wednesday 22 May 2019 until 5.00 p.m.

Consulting the electoral registers

Both the electoral registers for the FSR elections and the SR can be looked into from 14 March 2019 online via website https://stem.tudelft.nl.

Interested parties may lodge objections with the Executive Board via JZ@tudelft.nl until one week after the names have been announced.

Submission of candidate lists SR and FSR

Candidate lists may be submitted to the Student Council (SR) at institution level and to the Student Council (FSR) at faculty level from 11 March 2019 until 25 March 2019 5.00 p.m.

Attention:

Every student who is entitled to vote can nominate himself for the Student Council (SR) and Student Councils at faculty level (FSR). The nomination will take place as follows. To take part in the elections you have to hand in a candidate list to the secretary of the election committee. The candidate list must be supported by at least 10 persons who are eligible to vote for the Student Council (SR) and by at least 5 persons who are entitled to vote for the Student Councils at faculty level (FSR). Every candidate has to fill in a written declaration, in which he/she accepts his/her nomination on the candidate list.

The candidate proposition forms may be obtained as of 11 March 2019 from the relevant central or facultative election committee (see overview below) as below. The deadline for the submission of the candidate list is 25 March 2019 5.00 p.m. To ensure that the checking and processing of the candidate lists goes smoothly the election committee requests that the lists of candidates be handed in preferably before the final date.

The candidate lists (together with the candidates’ declarations of consent) for the SR must be personally handed in to the Central Election Committee’s office on the 5th floor of the Faculty Civil Engineering, Stevinweg 1, room 5.10 or 5.16

The candidate lists (together with the candidates’ declarations of consent) for the FSR must be personally handed in to the relevant faculty election committee (see the overview below). Dated proof of receipt will be issued to those who submit the lists.

New service for sending files: SURFfilesender

Within TU Delft, SURFfilesender replaces WeTransfer as a service for sending large files.

With SURFfilesender you can send and receive very large files safely and AVG proof via your web browser, without installation or plug-ins. The files can be larger than when sending via WeTransfer, e-mail or FTP, up to 500 GB. SURFfilesender is also suitable for smaller files, such as (confidential) reports. SURFfilesender works exactly the same as WeTransfer. www.surffilesender.nl
