From examinations to relaxation

Finished all your exams and tests? Congratulations! Haven’t got the grades you hoped for? Resits will be in week 33 which starts on Monday 12 August. Don’t forget to register in time and remember: when you finished them, it’s also time for you to relax.

Summer activities on campus

The campus won’t sleep during summer. There will be activities at X – from caveman BBQ workshops till fine arts workshops – and by the end of the summer new students will visit the campus. If you automatically forward your TU emails to another email address outside the TU, for example to your private email address, they may not arrive. When emails are forwarded, they are given a digital characteristic (a kind of signature) which means that they are no longer recognised by some receiving email servers and are therefore refused. Investigations are underway into the cause of the problem. For the time being, you are advised not to forward your TU emails automatically. Emails sent from TU Delft to your TU email address will arrive as normal.

Technical details
The problem for the most part occurs when both the sender and the recipient use ‘DKIM’ with their email servers. The email is given a kind of signature when it is sent. The TU Delft server subsequently forwards the email to, for example, a Gmail address. Some receiving email servers detect that the email has in someway been changed during the forwarding process, so that the email no longer matches the DKIM signature. The email will then be refused and not delivered. A non-delivery report will be sent to the sender, but this will not be delivered for the same reason.

Have you completed the final part of your study? Please be aware that you need to send a request to terminate your enrolment via Studielink as it will not be done automatically. Tuition fees need to be paid up to and including the last month of your enrolment. Please note! After 31 May it is only possible to unenrol per 31 August. You still have to pay tuition fee for the months of July and August. Retroactive unenrolment is not allowed.

Living in Delft?

Also when you stop studying and are living in Delft, don’t forget to get unregistered in Delft as well. Report your move to your new municipality or when you are relocating abroad and people are staying behind at the address you are leaving, you need to report your departure in person at the Delft Registration Office.

This new piece of legislation is very relevant for most of you. 🚲 Anyone cycling from this Monday 1 July with his or her phone, tablet, navigation system or other device in hand can receive a fine of 95 euros. Handsfree use of your phone remains allowed. With this prohibition, the government wants to ensure safety for all road users. Be careful! #wasteofmoney #safetraffic
