An ICT maintenance weekend is scheduled on 17 and 18 December. This whole weekend we are working on several applications, updates on servers, HPC and databases and updates on the network devices.
The maintenance starts on Friday evening and continues until Sunday evening. We ask for understanding for any inconvenience.

The network, both wireless and fixed, and all basic services including printing, cash registers and pin systems, lockers, coffee and vending machines are available. The access to the buildings and their facilities is as usual during the weekend.

Op 17 en 18 december staat een ICT-onderhoudsweekend gepland. Dit gehele weekend wordt gewerkt aan diverse applicaties, updates op servers, HPC en databases en updates op de netwerkapparatuur.
Het onderhoud start op vrijdagavond en loopt door tot en met zondagavond. Wij vragen begrip voor eventuele overlast.

Het netwerk, zowel draadloos als vast, en basisdiensten waaronder printen, kassa’s en pinsystemen, lockers, koffie- en snoepautomaten zijn gewoon beschikbaar. De toegang tot de gebouwen en hun faciliteiten zijn hetzelfde als elk weekend.

Alcohol and substances policy

From 1 January 2023, an alcohol and substances policy will apply at TU Delft. The premise of this is that it is not allowed to drink alcohol or be under the influence of stimulants, narcotics or hallucinogens. This policy applies to students and employees. This means concretely, the main points:

• Drinks, activities and events are alcohol-free until 5pm. This applies to staff and students, and to externals.

• Substance use is prohibited on campus at all times. Drugs include not only those prohibited under the Opium Act, but also, for example, laughing gas and performance-enhancing drugs. (Physician-prescribed substances (medicines) continue to be permitted).

• If alcoholic drinks are served, a maximum alcohol content of 15 per cent applies. Spirits above 15 % alcohol are therefore not allowed. In the faculty pubs, this is also to be removed from the range.

• Legal provisions, such as the Opium Act and the age limit of 18 years for being allowed to serve alcoholic beverages, continue to apply.

Why this policy?

Alcohol and substance use has negative effects on the health and well-being of students and staff. Dutch universities, including TU Delft, therefore have the ambition to help limit problematic alcohol use within the university community. To this end, TU Delft cooperates with student associations, the alcohol clinic of Reinier de Graaf, the Red Cross and the Municipality of Delft, among others. At TU Delft, this has led, among other things, to the adoption of this policy.

Alcohol- en middelenbeleid

Vanaf 1 januari 2023 geldt een alcohol en middelenbeleid bij TU Delft. Het uitgangspunt hiervan is dat het niet toegestaan is om alcohol te drinken of onder invloed te zijn van stimulerende, verdovende of hallucinerende middelen. Dit beleid is van toepassing voor studenten en medewerkers. Dit betekent concreet, de belangrijkste punten:

• Borrels, activiteiten en evenementen zijn tot 17.00 uur alcoholvrij. Dit geldt voor medewerkers en studenten, en voor externen.

• Middelengebruik is te allen tijde verboden op de campus. Onder middelen vallen hierbij niet alleen die middelen die onder de opiumwet verboden zijn, maar ook bijvoorbeeld lachgas en prestatieverhogende middelen. (Door de eigen arts voorgeschreven middelen (medicijnen) zijn uiteraard toegestaan.)

• Als er alcoholhoudende dranken wordt geschonken geldt een alcohoholpercentage van maximaal 15 procent. Gedestilleerd is dus niet toegestaan. In de facultaire pubs wordt dit ook uit het assortiment gehaald.

• Wettelijke bepalingen, zoals de opiumwet en de leeftijdsgrens van 18 jaar voor het mogen schenken van alcoholhoudende dranken, blijven gelden.

Waarom dit beleid?

Alcohol en middelengebruik heeft negatieve effecten op de gezondheid en het welzijn van studenten en medewerkers. Nederlandse universiteiten, waaronder TU Delft, hebben daarom de ambitie om problematisch alcoholgebruik binnen de universiteitsgemeenschap te helpen beperken. TU Delft werkt hierbij samen met o.a. studentenverenigingen, de alcoholpoli van Reinier de Graaf, het Rode Kruis en Gemeente Delft. Bij TU Delft heeft dit o.a. geleid tot het vaststellen van dit beleid.

Binnenkort wordt het gehele beleid op de website van de TU Delft gepubliceerd.
