Twice a year you have the opportunity to follow a one-week intensive course, organized by several European Universities. This programme is called the ATHENS programme (Advanced Technology Higher Education Network, Socrates). Each course also boasts its own social programme. You can earn 2 ECTS and the ATHENS compensation of €150,- as a contribution to the travel abroad.The Athens NovemberSession will take place from November 18th to 25th 2023.

ATHENS NOVEMBER 2023 SESSIE

Twee keer per jaar heb je als Master student van TU Delft  mogelijkheid om een ​​intensieve cursus van een week te volgen bij een van top Europese Universiteiten. From October 9 to 15, 2023, the national Safety & Security Week will take place. TU Delft is participating in this national initiative for the sixth time this year. Also this year we ask your attention for various security themes that play in and around the TU Delft campus. Together we ensure that the campus is a safe environment to study, work, research and relax. One way we do this is through the activities below, in which you can participate.

Soon we will publish all activities on TU Delft campus in which you can participate. For example, a specially equipped Safety Square where you can experience how to extinguish a starting fire. Week van de Veiligheid 2023

Van 9 t/m 15 oktober 2023 vindt de nationale Week van de Veiligheid plaats. De TU Delft doet dit jaar voor de zesde keer mee met dit landelijke initiatief. Ook dit jaar vragen we jullie aandacht voor diverse veiligheidsthema’s die spelen in en rondom de campus van de TU Delft. Samen zorgen we ervoor dat de campus een veilige omgeving is om te studeren, werken, onderzoeken en te ontspannen.

Programma
Binnenkort publiceren wij alle activiteiten op de TU Delft campus waaraan je kunt deelnemen. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan een speciaal ingericht Veiligheidsplein waar je kan ervaren hoe je een beginnende brand moet blussen. Of hoe het is om te ontsnappen uit een ruimte vol rook! The new Flux teaching building at the centre of our campus is going to be available for use from the start of the new academic year. Four large teaching rooms provide space for more than 700 students. The rooms are suitable for mixed teaching methods, combining whole-class instruction and collaboration. They can also be used as examination rooms.

Circular design
Although the building provides temporary accommodation, it has the image and character of a permanent location and this is reinforced by the greenery on the façades and the rows of trees on the site. Flux is expected to remain at its current location for between five and ten years. This will give TU Delft the time, space and flexibility it needs to monitor properly the size of the student population and developments in education as a consequence of Covid-19 and with regard to blended learning. The modular construction method means that the building could be used again at another location, either by TU Delft or an entirely different user. The largest part of the building itself is reusable. Solar panels have been fitted to its roof, the furniture has been refurbished and the floor panels were used previously during the Olympic Games of 2012.

Flux is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00. When there are no lectures, the rooms are available for self-study. More information about Flux, such as its location can be found here.

Onderwijsgebouw Flux vanaf 4 september open

Midden in het hart van onze campus wordt met ingang van het nieuwe collegejaar het nieuwe onderwijsgebouw Flux in gebruik genomen. Met vier grote onderwijszalen is er plek voor ruim 700 studenten. De zalen zijn geschikt voor gemixte didactiek: een combinatie van frontaal lesgeven en samenwerken. Daarnaast kunnen ze ingezet worden als tentamenzalen.

Circulair ontwerp
Het gebouw is een tijdelijk onderkomen, maar heeft de uitstraling en het karakter van een permanente plek. De gevelbeplanting en de bomenrijen op het terrein versterken die sfeer.
Naar verwachting blijft Flux vijf tot tien jaar op de huidige plek staan. Dit geeft de TU Delft de tijd, ruimte en flexibiliteit om de omvang van de studentenpopulatie en de ontwikkelingen in het onderwijs goed te kunnen monitoren als gevolg van Covid-19 en op het gebied van blended learning.
De modulaire bouwwijze maakt het mogelijk om het gebouw later elders weer opnieuw te gebruiken, door de TU Delft of een geheel andere gebruiker. Het grootste gedeelte van het gebouw zelf is herbruikbaar. Flux is voorzien van zonnepanelen op het dak, het meubilair is refurbished en de vloerpanelen zijn eerder gebruikt tijdens de Olympische Spelen van 2012.

Flux is open van maandag t/m vrijdag van 08:00 – 18:00 uur. Buiten de colleges zijn de zalen beschikbaar zijn voor zelfstudie. Klik hier voor meer informatie over Flux.

On 1 September 2023, the barriers at TU Delft’s parking areas will close and the new parking system will take effect. This means that TU Delft students will be able to access the parking areas with their campus card from that date. In addition to the campus card, the parking areas can also be accessed through number plate recognition. To do so, your number plate needs to be linked to your campus card. The barriers will then open automatically once your number plate number is recognised, and you won’t need to present your campus card. Dynamic parking signage along the campus ring indicates how many spaces are available in the various parking areas. This way you can find a parking space quickly and easily. 

Free parking for up to 48 consecutive hours
The TU Delft parking areas will remain accessible 24/7, but to make the most efficient use of parking spaces, students can park free of charge for a maximum of 48 consecutive hours. If you park for more than 48 hours, you will pay the visitor fee between 08:00 and 18:00 on Monday to Friday. The fee is 2 euros per hour with a maximum of 10 euros per day. 

Public parking spaces on campus
The parking spaces on campus located outside the barriers of the TU Delft parking areas – referred to as public parking spaces – are covered by the municipal parking regime (paid parking) on Campus North and the centre of campus (up to the Kruithuisweg).

Vanaf 1 september: toegang tot parkeerlocaties alleen met campuskaart of kenteken

Op 1 september 2023 gaan de slagbomen op de parkeerlocaties van de TU Delft naar beneden en treedt het nieuwe parkeersysteem in werking. Dat betekent dat je als student van de TU Delft vanaf die datum met je campuskaart toegang tot de parkeerlocaties hebt. Behalve met je campuskaart, kun je ook toegang krijgen met je kenteken. Koppel hiervoor je kenteken aan je campuskaart. Dan gaan de slagbomen automatisch omhoog zodra je kenteken wordt herkend en heb je je campuskaart niet nodig. Via dynamische parkeerverwijzing langs de campusring wordt aangegeven hoeveel plaatsen er op de verschillende parkeerlocaties vrij zijn. Zo vind je snel en gemakkelijk een parkeerplek. 

Maximaal 48 uur aaneengesloten gratis parkeren
De TU Delft parkeerlocaties blijven 24/7 toegankelijk, maar om zo efficiënt mogelijk met de parkeerplaatsen om te gaan, kun je als student maximaal 48 uur aaneengesloten gratis parkeren. Parkeer je langer dan 48 uur, dan betaal je het bezoekerstarief op maandag t/m vrijdag tussen 08.00 en 18.00 uur. Het tarief bedraagt 2 euro per uur met een maximum van 10 euro per dag. 

Openbare parkeerplekken op de campus
Voor de parkeerplekken op de campus die buiten de slagbomen van de TU Delft parkeerlocaties liggen – de zogenoemde openbare parkeerplekken – geldt op Campus Noord en Campus Midden (tot aan de Kruithuisweg) het gemeentelijke parkeerregime (betaald parkeren).

During this week, the car park on the Van der Waalsweg will be used for various events, such as the opening party and the Cantus Sing-Along. The Van Der Waalsweg car park will be closed from Thursday 10 August 00.00 hrs to Friday 18 August 17.00 hrs (marked blue in the picture, the red marked spaces will be partially available from Monday 14 August). Please check if you can get to campus by public transport or by bike on these days. Coming by car? You can park at P-Sports (van den Broekweg) or P-TNW (van der Maasweg).

Afsluiting Parkeerplaats bij de Library

De OntvangstWeek (OWee) vindt dit jaar plaats in Delft van 13 tot en met 17 augustus. Tijdens deze week wordt het parkeerterrein aan de Van der Waalsweg gebruikt voor verschillende evenementen, zoals het openingsfeest en de Cantus Sing-Along. Het parkeerterrein aan de Van der Waalsweg is afgesloten van donderdag 10 augustus 00.00 uur tot vrijdag 18 augustus 17.00 uur (blauw gemarkeerd op de foto, de rood gemarkeerde plaatsen zijn vanaf maandag 14 augustus gedeeltelijk beschikbaar). Controleer of je op deze dagen met het openbaar vervoer of de fiets naar de campus kunt komen. Kom je met de auto? Je kunt parkeren bij P-Sports (van den Broekweg) of P-TNW (van der Maasweg).

On Saturday 19 August, necessary maintenance will be carried out on network equipment on campus. This will cause a network interruption of 5 to a maximum of 30 minutes. In order to minimise the disturbance for staff and students, it has been decided to carry out the work during a weekend.

Maintenance details
The maintenance work will take place on Saturday 19 August from 10:00 to 14:00. During this period, the network will be unavailable for 5 to a maximum of 30 minutes. This means that applications and systems requiring a network connection to TU Delft’s network will not work for several minutes. This applies to all types of network connections: network via cable and Wi-Fi.

Extra ICT werkzaamheden op zaterdag 19 augustus

Op zaterdag 19 augustus wordt er noodzakelijk onderhoud uitgevoerd aan netwerkapparatuur op de campus. Hierdoor zal een netwerkonderbreking optreden van 5 tot maximaal 30 minuten. Om medewerkers en studenten zo min mogelijk te belasten, is gekozen de werkzaamheden in een weekend uit te voeren.

Details werkzaamheden
De werkzaamheden zullen op zaterdag 19 augustus van 10:00 tot 14:00 uur plaatsvinden. In deze periode zal het netwerk 5 tot maximaal 30 minuten niet beschikbaar zijn. Dat betekent dat de applicaties en systemen waarvoor een netwerkverbinding met het netwerk van de TU Delft nodig is, een aantal minuten niet zullen werken. Dit geldt voor alle soorten netwerkverbindingen: netwerk via kabel and wifi.

Starting from the upcoming academic year, free Adobe Creative Cloud licences will no longer be available due to changes in the license terms of the contract. Temporary free licences will expire on 31 August 2023. However, you have the option to purchase your own Adobe Creative Cloud licence at a discount. Go to Surfspot.nl and log in with your NetID to purchase an Adobe Creative Cloud – Student. The cost for one year is currently €129 including VAT. You can also purchase a monthly subscription directly from Adobe for €19.66 per month.

Note: If you are using Adobe’s cloud storage to store data related to Creative Cloud applications, you will need to secure that data by storing it elsewhere before 31 August 2023.

Vanaf aankomend acadmisch jaar zullen kosteloze Adobe Creative Cloud licenties niet langer beschikbaar zijn vanwege aanpassingen in de licentievoorwaarden van het contract. De tijdelijk gratis beschikbare licenties komen te vervallen per 31 augustus 2023. Je hebt echter de mogelijkheid om zelf een Adobe Creative Cloud licentie aan te schaffen met korting. Via Surfspot.nl kun je inloggen met je NetID waarna je een licentie kunt aanschaffen voor Adobe Creative Cloud – Student. De kosten voor een jaar bedragen momenteel €129,- incl. btw. Daarnaast kun je ook rechtstreeks bij Adobe een maandelijks abonnement afsluiten voor €19,66 per maand. 

Let op: Als je gebruik maakt van de Cloud opslag van Adobe om data op te slaan die gerelateerd is aan Creative Cloud applicaties, dan dien je deze data zelf voor 31 augustus 2023 veilig te stellen door ze op een andere plek op te slaan.

Are you studying at college or university after the summer? And are you still entitled to a performance grant? Then the basic grant is for you. You still need to apply for the basic grant with DUO. Even if you already have a student loan. It is easy to arrange. If you apply before 1 September, you can be sure of receiving your first payment by the end of September.

The basic grant
Like the supplementary grant and the student travel product, the basic grant is a gift if you graduate within 10 years. The amount you receive depends on your living situation. If you live at home, you will receive €110.30 per month; if you live away from home, you will receive €439.20 per month (€274.90 basic grant + €164.30 temporary increase due to the purchasing power measure for the academic year 2023-2024).

Vraag nu jouw basisbeurs aan

Studeer je na de zomer in het hbo of aan de universiteit? En heb je nog recht op prestatiebeurs? Dan is de basisbeurs er vanaf nu ook voor jou. Je moet de basisbeurs nog wel zelf aanvragen bij DUO. Ook als je al studiefinanciering hebt. Dat is zo geregeld. Als je hem voor 1 september aanvraagt, dan weet je zeker dat je de eerste betaling al eind september krijgt.

De basisbeurs
De basisbeurs is net als de aanvullende beurs en het studentenreisproduct een gift als je binnen 10 jaar je diploma behaalt. Hoeveel je kunt krijgen, hangt af van je woonsituatie. Als je thuiswonend bent krijg je €110,30 per maand, als je uitwonend bent € 439,20 per maand (€ 274,90 basisbeurs + € 164,30 tijdelijke verhoging door de koopkrachtmaatregel voor studiejaar 2023-2024).
