Would you like to join the Eco-Runner Team Delft?
We are looking for full-time, part-time and minor students from all faculties who would like to complete our team and want to design,build and race the most fuel efficient car in the world.
DUT Racing is looking for new members to be part of the 2014-2015 team
We are a team of approximately 80 students that builds an electric race car for the formula student competition. This is a student engineering competition where you will design, build and race a formula styled vehicle. We have the world record acceleration for an electric car (0-100 km/h in 2.13 s) and have won the biggest European formula student Competition 4 times in a row.
Uittreerede Cultural Professor Paulien Cornelisse (in Dutch)
Op donderdag 5 juni neemt Paulien Cornelisse afscheid als Cultural Professor 2014 en houdt haar uittreerede. Verder staan deze avond natuurlijk haar masterclass-studenten centraal, die hun werkstukken over het thema ‘De Wonderkamer’ presenteren. Je bent van harte welkom in de Aula op donderdag 5 juni vanaf 20.00 uur.

VOORLOPIGE UITSLAG VERKIEZINGEN SR
Bij de voorlopige uitslagbepaling op 23 mei 2014 van de verkiezingen voor de Studentenraad op instellingsniveau, gehouden op 21 en 22 mei 2014, heeft de Centrale Verkiezingscommissie de navolgende kandidaten voorlopig gekozen verklaard:
Academische Jaarindeling 2014-2015 gereed / Academic Calender 2014-2015 is ready
In het huidige collegejaar 2013-2014 zijn we met de laatste maanden bezig. De zomervakantie is alweer in zicht. Iedereen gaat zo langzamerhand bezig met de planning voor het komend jaar, vandaar dat we je graag willen informeren over de nieuwe academische jaarindeling voor collegejaar 2014-2015. Je kunt hem hier vinden. Erg handig om te weten wanneer de eerste collegedagen en de vakantiedagen zijn.
27 mei: SG-lezing met Frans de Waal (in Dutch)
Primatoloog en diergedragsbioloog Frans de Waal kom naar Delft voor een lezing en debat georganiseerd door Studium Generale en twintig studieverenigingen. Kom op dinsdag 27 mei om 17.00 uur naar de Aula. Toegang is gratis.
24 and 25 May ICT Maintenance Weekend
24 en 25 mei ICT Onderhoudsweekend: Draadloos netwerk en enquêtesysteem niet of beperkt beschikbaar
In het ICT onderhoudsweekend van 24 en 25 mei a.s. is er op zaterdagochtend van 09.00 – 12.00 uur campusbreed geen verbinding met het draadloos netwerk mogelijk. Daarnaast worden er werkzaamheden verricht aan het enquêtesysteem Collector waardoor dit systeem gedurende een groot deel van de zaterdag niet gebruikt kan worden.
Netwerkstoring opgelost / Network restored
Vanmorgen is er een campusbrede netwerkstoring geweest, die werd veroorzaakt door een defecte firewall. Hierdoor waren alle ICT-diensten onbereikbaar, inclusief het draadloze netwerk.
Hoewel verkeer met internet wel mogelijk was, was de dienst die de vertaling van webadressen (bijv. www.tudelft.nl) naar IP-adressen verzorgt, niet bereikbaar. Daardoor was het onmogelijk om de website binnen en buiten de campus te bereiken.
De defecte firewall is handmatig uitgeschakeld en een redundante firewall heeft zijn taken overgenomen. Vanaf dat ogenblik waren alle diensten onmiddellijk weer up-and-running. De defecte firewall zal worden vervangen, hiervan zul je verder niets merken.

The network failure this morning was caused by a faulty firewall. This meant that all ICT services were unavailable, including the wireless network.
Although traffic with internet was possible, the service that translates web addresses into IP addresses (e.g. www.tudelft.nl) was unavailable. As a result, it was impossible to reach the TU Delft website, both within and outside the campus. The faulty firewall has been turned off manually and its tasks taken over by a redundant firewall. This enabled us to immediately restore all services. The failed firewall will be replaced, however this will not unduly affect you.

The TEDxDelft Award is Back
Would you like to have the opportunity to speak at TEDxDelft 2015? This is your chance. The TEDxDelft Award offers students and PHD candidates a platform to share their idea (worth sharing). The award is not only a onetime event, but a complete track. Part of this track are several workshops to help participants develop their idea and their pitching skills. During the final the different pitches will compete for the award and a wildcard giving the winners the chance to spread their idea at TEDxDelft 2015: an event with an audience of over a thousand.

TU Delft student in final Shell Ideas 360
Have TU Delft student Januardy Djong and his teammate Dimas Priawan (UT Twente) won the Shell Ideas360 competition? We will find out soon. As finalists they have presented their ideas to the jury on 14 May, and today, 15 May the winner will be announced during the Shell Eco Marathon in Rotterdam. With their modular UniPump they are certainly strong contenders.
