For our new students: During the XXL Weeks, various catering locations will extend their hours due to the exam period. This means you can enjoy a (warm) healthy and nutritious meal in the evenings. The Fellowship, Coffee-star Library and the Food trucks are even open on weekends. Food trucks will be at Freezone B (between Library and Aula) from 11:00-15.00. Don’t forget to take a well-deserved break from your study sessions with a good cup of coffee and a delicious meal. Good luck everyone!

XXL Weken van 23 oktober tot 10 november!

Voor onze nieuwe studenten: Tijdens de XXL Weken verruimen verschillende cateringlocaties hun openingstijden in verband met de tentamenperiode. Dit betekent dat je ‘s avonds kunt genieten van een (warme) gezonde en voedzame maaltijd. De Fellowship, Coffee-star Library en de Foodtrucks zijn zelfs in het weekend geopend. De Foodtrucks staan op Freezone B (tussen Library en Aula) van 11.00-15.00 uur.
Vergeet niet om een welverdiende pauze in te lassen van je studiesessies met een goede kop koffie en een heerlijke maaltijd. Veel succes iedereen!

The dark nights of Halloween get a special twist at TU Delft Science Centre this year. Forget the traditional Halloween ghosts and monsters; this year we invite you to ‘Madness on Mars’, an exciting and special edition of our escape room ‘Mission to Mars’. In this experience, adventurers enter a research base on Mars where a chilling secret awaits that could change the future of humanity.

From 24 October to 31 October, the doors to this creepy room will be open, but please note that spots are limited. Those looking for a unique Halloween adventure can book tickets at www.escapetudelft.nl. Be quick, as tickets are flying out the door!

A note to all astronauts: this escape room is only for participants aged 16 and above. And for those already familiar with ‘Mission to Mars’, this new setting offers a fresh experience, but with the same puzzles. Both Dutch and English-speaking players are welcome to experience the thrill and excitement.

TU Delft presenteert: Madness on Mars – Een Halloween Special Edition Escape Room

De donkere nachten van Halloween krijgen dit jaar een speciale wending bij TU Delft Science Centre. Vergeet de traditionele Halloween-spoken en monsters; dit jaar nodigen wij je uit voor ‘Madness on Mars’, een spannende en speciale editie van onze escape room ‘Missie naar Mars’. In deze ervaring betreden avonturiers een onderzoekscentrum op Mars waar een huiveringwekkend geheim wacht dat de toekomst van de mensheid kan veranderen.

Van 24 oktober tot en met 31 oktober staan de deuren van deze griezelige kamer open, maar let op: de plekken zijn beperkt. Wie op zoek is naar een uniek Halloween-avontuur, kan tickets reserveren op www.escapetudelft.nl. Wees er snel bij, want de tickets vliegen de deur uit! Een aandachtspunt voor astronauten: deze escape room is uitsluitend voor deelnemers van 16 jaar en ouder.

En voor degenen die al bekend zijn met ‘Missie naar Mars’, biedt deze nieuwe setting een frisse ervaring, maar met dezelfde puzzels. Zowel Nederlandstalige als Engelstalige spelers zijn welkom om de spanning en sensatie te ervaren.

Or would you like to learn more about basic and interdisciplinary data literacy skills – from an initial understanding of data and data literacy concepts, to data collection, analysis, FAIR management and communication, to data-driven insights and decision making – and earn 3 ECTS? This whole weekend we are working on several applications, updates on servers and databases and updates on the network devices. The maintenance starts on 6h30 AM on Saturday morning and continues until the evening. We ask for understanding for any inconvenience.  

The network, both wireless and fixed, and all basic services including printing, cash registers and pin systems, lockers, coffee and vending machines are available. The access to the buildings and their facilities is as usual during the weekend.

ICT-onderhoudsweekend op 14-15 oktober

Op 14-15 oktober staat een ICT-onderhoudsweekend gepland. Dit gehele weekend wordt gewerkt aan diverse applicaties, updates op servers en databases en updates op de netwerkapparatuur. Het onderhoud start om 6.30 uur op zaterdagochtend en loopt door tot de avond. Wij vragen begrip voor eventuele overlast.

Het netwerk, zowel draadloos als vast, en basisdiensten waaronder printen, kassa’s en pinsystemen, lockers, koffie- en snoepautomaten zijn gewoon beschikbaar. De toegang tot de gebouwen en hun faciliteiten zijn hetzelfde als elk weekend.

On Sunday 22 October, TU Delft Science Centre is hosting its annual Science Day. TU Delft’s free family event. Various TU Delft departments such as TU Delft Science Centre, the Dreamhall, the Green Village, Echo and Civil Engineering and Geosciences will open their doors from 11am to 5pm to give children (up to 12 years old) and their parents an insight into the world of science and technology.

This year is extra special because we honour Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, the pioneer of microbiology. In his legacy there will be activities on the theme of microbiology. One can follow in Antoni’s footsteps during various workshops, activities, and demonstrations.

Science Day 2023

Op zondag 22 oktober organiseert TU Delft Science Centre de jaarlijkse Science Day. Dit gratis evenement biedt families een unieke kans om de boeiende wereld van onderzoek en innovatie te ontdekken. Verschillende TU Delft afdelingen, zoals TU Delft Science Centre, de Dreamhall, the Green Village, Echo en de faculteit Civiele Techniek en Geowetenschappen openen van 11.00 tot 17.00 uur hun deuren. Kinderen tot 12 jaar, vergezeld door hun ouders, worden uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan workshops, boeiende demonstraties en spannende experimenten.

Dit jaar is extra speciaal omdat we Antoni van Leeuwenhoek eren, de pionier van de microbiologie. Speciaal daarom zijn er een veelal activiteiten in het thema microbiologie. Zo kan men in de voetsporen van Antoni treden tijdens verschillende workshops, activiteiten en demonstraties.
