We would like to invite you to join the third edition of the TU Delft Talkshow. This edition will take place during the ‘How Are U’ week, a week full of activities organized for and by students.   

Engineers play an important role in solving the major social issues of this century. The training of sufficient engineers is therefore crucial for the well-being and prosperity of the Netherlands. This is a major responsibility that TU Delft wants to take on. That is why a new strategic course is currently being explored. During this exploration fase we are keeping sight on the level of care for our engineers-in-the-making and our employees. That is why we wish to invite you to the latest edition of the TU Delft Talkshow. Other topics during the talk show are about social safety at TU Delft and IT security (hacking/phishing). 

In this third edition of the TU Delft talkshow, we discuss this with our Executive Board and various table guests.

TU Delft Talkshow: 17 November

Wij nodigen jouw graag uit om aan te sluiten bij de derde editie van de TU Delft Talkshow. Deze editie vindt plaats tijdens de ‘How Are U’-week, een week vol activiteiten die zijn georganiseerd voor en door studenten.  

Ingenieurs spelen een belangrijke rol bij het oplossen van de grote maatschappelijke vraagstukken van deze eeuw. Het opleiden van voldoende ingenieurs is daarmee cruciaal voor het welzijn en de welvaart van Nederland. Hier ligt een grote verantwoordelijkheid, die TU Delft wil nemen. Daarom wordt op dit moment een nieuwe strategische koers verkend. Dat doen we met aandacht voor de zorgambitie die we hebben voor deze ingenieurs-in-wording en onze medewerkers. Daarom nodigen we je graag uit naar de nieuwste editie van de TU Delft Talkshow. Andere onderwerpen tijdens de talkshow gaan over de sociale veiligheid bij de TU Delft en IT-security (hacking/phishing). 

In deze derde editie van de TU Delft talkshow gaan we hierover in gesprek met het College van Bestuur en verschillende tafelgasten.

Don’t forget to terminate your enrolment after the final part of your study
Have you completed the final part of your study? Please be aware that you need to send a request to terminate your enrolment through Studielink as it will not be done automatically. When you terminate your enrolment at TU Delft, you are entitled to a refund of one twelfth of the annual tuition fee for each month of the academic year in which you are no longer enrolled, with the exception of termination as from July and August.

Enrolment termination with retroactive effect is not possible.

And you can be there! From today until Sunday 6 November, we actively make our contributions on climate visible and audible! The NPO Radio 1 Climate Studio offers our climate scientists a nice stage. This week, the Co-Creation Centre at The Green Village is acting as our very own ‘Glass House’. In the Climate Studio, various NPO Radio 1 programmes are looking for the answer to the question of what we should do about the climate problem. They do so with experts and a panel of climate experts, including Gerdien de Vries, Marjan Kreijns, Martine Rutten, Andy van den Dobbelsteen and Ruth Mugge. But above all, listeners are asked to contribute their thoughts. You can listen here. You are also welcome to attend the broadcasts; you can register via the website of NPO Radio 1.

NPO Radio 1 Klimaatstudio live vanaf The Green Village in de Klimaatweek

En jij kunt erbij zijn! Vanaf vandaag t/m zondag 6 november maken we actief onze bijdragen op klimaatgebied zichtbaar en hoorbaar! De NPO Radio 1 Klimaatstudio biedt onze klimaatwetenschappers een mooi podium. Deze week fungeert het Co-Creation Centre op The Green Village namelijk als ons eigen ‘Glazen Huis’. In de Klimaatstudio zoeken verschillende programma’s van NPO Radio 1 naar het antwoord op de vraag wat we moeten doen aan het klimaatprobleem. Dat doen ze met deskundigen en een panel van klimaatexperts, onder wie Gerdien de Vries, Marjan Kreijns, Martine Rutten, Andy van den Dobbelsteen en Ruth Mugge. Maar bovenal wordt de luisteraar gevraagd om mee te denken. Luisteren kan hier. Je bent ook van harte welkom om de uitzendingen bij te wonen; aanmelden kan via de website van NPO Radio 1.

Are you a student and have you come up with a good idea for an initiative to improve diversity and inclusion within TU Delft? You can put your idea into practice with the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Grant, and receive an amount of up to €3,000.

Submit your application by 7 November 2022 at the latest by sending it to diversity@tudelft.nl.

With this money you can organise an event, workshop, campaign, training and (guest) lecture, but you can also use it for (new) guidelines, instruments, toolkits or another type of project. There are probably plenty of other inspiring ideas that haven’t occurred to us yet. We are open to new ideas!

A safe, inclusive learning and working environment is crucial to getting the best out of yourself, both professionally and personally. This is important for everyone, regardless of your sexual orientation, religion, thinking style, gender, appearance, age, physical or mental disabilities or your cultural, ethnic or socio-economic background. Draag bij aan diversiteit, kansengelijkheid en inclusie binnen de TU Delft!

Ben jij een student en heb je een goed idee voor een initiatief waarmee we diversiteit, kansengelijkheid en inclusie binnen TU Delft kunnen verbeteren? Met de Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Grant kun je jouw idee in de praktijk brengen en ontvang je hiervoor tot een bedrag van maximaal € 3.000,- .

Dien je aanvraag uiterlijk 7 november 2022 in door het te sturen naar diversity@tudelft.nl.

Met dit bedrag kun je bijvoorbeeld een evenement, workshop, campagne, training en (gast)lezing organiseren, maar je kunt het ook gebruiken voor (nieuwe) richtlijnen, instrumenten, toolkits of een ander project. Zo zijn er vast nog veel meer andere inspirerende ideeën waar wij nog niet aan gedacht hebben. We staan open voor nieuwe ideeën!

Waarom de D&I Grant?
Een veilige, inclusieve leer- en werkomgeving is essentieel om het meeste uit jezelf te halen, zowel op professioneel als persoonlijk vlak. The government has noted that corona numbers continue to rise and decided to set the so-called corona thermometer to level 2. This means being extra attentive in following hygiene measures. These are: sneeze and cough into the elbow, do not shake hands and wash your hands regularly. The government has not taken any other additional measures. However, the advice remains that if you have symptoms, even mild ones, to stay at home. In that case, test yourself or get tested at the GGD. Take care of yourself, each other and, in particular, people who are vulnerable.

Coronacijfers lopen op
De overheid heeft geconstateerd dat de coronacijfers verder toenemen en besloten om de zogenoemde coronathermometer op stand 2 te zetten. Dit betekent dat we extra alert moeten zijn op het volgen van de hygiënemaatregelen. Dit zijn: niezen en hoesten in de elleboog, geen handen schudden en regelmatig je handen wassen. De overheid heeft verder geen extra maatregelen genomen. Wel blijft het advies staan dat je bij klachten, ook bij milde klachten, thuis blijft. Test jezelf in dat geval of laat je testen bij de GGD. Pas goed op jezelf, elkaar, en in het bijzonder op de mensen die kwetsbaar zijn.
