Ben je bachelor of master student en aan het afstuderen?

Dan is het handig om te weten dat je inschrijving nooit automatisch beëindigd wordt. Je betaalt collegegeld tot en met de laatste maand waarin je ingeschreven staat. Er kan niet met terugwerkende kracht worden uitgeschreven. Voor afstudeerders betekent dit: schrijf je uit in de maand dat je afstudeert.
Je hoeft niet tot na het afstuderen te wachten als je je afstudeerdatum weet; het verzoek tot uitschrijven kan ook in de weken ervoor worden ingediend.
Raadpleeg de CSa website voor informatie over uitschrijven en/of eventuele restitutie van het collegegeld.

It is good to know that your registration will not be terminated automatically.
You pay tuition fees up to and including the last month of registration. Retroactive deregistration is not allowed. When you are graduating, you should deregister during the month of graduation. You do not have to wait until graduation; you may submit the request a couple of weeks prior to your graduation date.

Op 26 november 2014 vindt aan de TU de Student Research Conference plaats. De Student Research Conference (SRC) is een terugkerende conferentie voor bacheloronderzoek. In de vorm van een poster of presentatie wordt Nederlands en Vlaams bacheloronderzoek gepresenteerd aan een jury van hoogleraren en aan het publiek. Aan de conferentie is een award gekoppeld voor het beste bacheloronderzoek, de Student Research Award. Deze prijs zal dit jaar uitgereikt worden door minister Bussemaker!

On November 26th of this year, students from universities and universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands and Flanders, will present their undergraduate research. This year the Student Research Conference (SRC) will take place at the Delft University of Technology. A committee consisting of academic experts has reviewed all papers and selected only the best papers to be presented at the SRC 2014. The selected students will present their undergraduate research at the conference, either in a poster presentation or during a workshop session. The winners of the SRC will also be awarded a prize, the Student Research Award!

Besides the research presentations by students, there will be interesting keynote lectures as well. Well-known Dutch Professors Leo Kouwenhoven and Lotte Jensen will share their enthusiasm for research. If you are interested in the SRC, register on: www.VSNU.nl/SRC

CISV organiseert elk jaar internationale kampen voor jongeren van 11 tot 18 jaar. Meer dan 3000 kinderen nemen jaarlijks deel aan deze kampen. Voor komende zomer zijn we op zoek naar enthousiaste staf en leiding (21+) voor de verschillende programma’s die we wereldwijd organiseren.

Apply to be the only Dutch university student group in Summer 2015 at the MIT Global Founders’ Skills Accelerator!

You have the chance to join the Global Founders’ Skills Accelerator programme together with select teams of MIT students and several foreign universities. Due to the unique collaboration between Delft University of Technology and MIT, it is possible for a team of Delft students to join this programme. The MIT Global Founders’ Skills Accelerator (MIT GFSA) is the premier university student accelerator in the world. It offers a three-month entrepreneurial summer school programme at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for students to round out their multi-dimensional entrepreneurial experience. Applications are open for teams of two to five students in the final phase of their studies or who are doing a PhD.

To get this opportunity, students will have to apply for STARTUP, the TU Delft MIT GFSA competition. The winning team will get the three-summer-month programme with travel expenses, cost of residence and a monthly stipend fully sponsored by the TU Delft and RVO as well as the chance to earn up to $20,000 based on its progress against monthly milestones.

DIG-it! – TU Delft Research Exhibition

Op 11 november 2014 zal de research community van TU Delft meer dan 80 onderzoeksprojecten presenteren in TU Delft Library.

Op 11 november studeren in de Library?

Op 11 november is de Library uiteraard ook open om te studeren. Er zijn echter wel een paar aanpassingen:

• Toegang tot de Library via een alternatieve ingang aan de Schoemakerstraat
• Er is extra studieruimte op level 0
• Alternatieve uitleenbalie (boeken uit de wand worden voor je opgehaald!)
• Alternatief servicepunt
• Hele dag gratis koffie en thee!

Verder zijn alleen de rode, oranje en glazen zaal beschikbaar. Alle andere ruimtes zijn dus niet beschikbaar! En ook al is de reproruimte dicht, er wordt voor genoeg printfaciliteiten gezorgd.

DIG-it! – TU Delft Research Exhibition

On 11 November 2014, TU Delft’s research community will present over 80 research projects at TU Delft Library.

Study in the Library on 11 November?

The Library will be available for study purposes on 11 November. However, there will be some adjustments and changes:

• Access to the Library via an alternative entrance on the Schoemakerstraat
• There will be additional study spaces on level 0
• Alternative location for the check-out desk (books from our book shelves will be picked up for you)
• Alternative location for servicepoint
• Free coffee and tea all day!

Please note that only the red, orange and glass hall are available. And even though this also means the repro will be closed, plenty of other printing facilities will be provided.

Alert Online: weet wat je doet!

In Nederland zijn we steeds vaker en langer online. Op het werk, op school, thuis of onderweg. Met onze telefoon, tablet of computer. Gelukkig zijn we ons steeds meer bewust dat dit risico’s met zich meebrengt. Zo kunnen we met één muisklik onbedoeld onze eigen computer of zelfs een heel netwerk besmetten. Of creditcardgegevens uit handen geven aan criminelen. Recent in het nieuws was de grote hack waarbij Russische criminelen ruim een miljard inloggegevens, waaronder 1,3 miljoen e-mailadressen eindigende op .nl, hebben weten te bemachtigen. Alert zijn op de risico’s is dus belangrijk.

Maar weten we ook wat we kunnen doen om de risico’s te verminderen? Van 27 oktober tot en met 6 november 2014 organiseert de Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding en Veiligheid (NCTV) voor de derde keer de landelijke campagne Alert Online. Alert Online, een gezamenlijk initiatief van overheid, bedrijfsleven en wetenschap helpt om de kennis over online veiligheid te vergroten. Op security.tudelft.nl vind je onder het menu Werk Veilig onder andere campagnefilmpjes en tips en tricks om veilig online te kunnen blijven.

Alert Online: know what you’re doing!

In the Netherlands, people are online more often and for longer periods than ever before. At work, at school, at home or en route, using our cell phones, tablets or computers. Fortunately, people are becoming increasingly aware of the associated risks. We know that with a simple mouse-click, we could accidentally infect our computer or even an entire network or give criminals our credit card details. Recently in the news was the major hacking incident in which Russian criminals stole over a billion internet login credentials, including 1.3 million e-mail addresses ending in .nl. So it is very important to be aware of the risks.

But, do we know what we can do to minimise risks? From 27 October to 6 November 2014 the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) will be hosting the campaign Alert Online, for the third consecutive year. Alert Online is a joint initiative of the government, the business community and the world of science to help increase knowledge about online security. Go to security.tudelft.nl and click on the Keep it Safe menu to find campaign videos and tips and tricks to remain safe online.
