Ben je bijna klaar met je studie? Weet jij hoe het dan zit met je studiefinanciering en je studentenreisproduct? Moet je het zelf stopzetten? Gaat dit automatisch? Krijg je geld als je gaat doorstuderen?
Of je nu stopt met studeren of verder gaat met een andere studie; in beide situaties moet je wat zaken regelen bij DUO. Om je snel op weg te helpen heeft DUO een handige wijzigingshulp. Vul ‘m in op duo.nl/klaarmetjestudie en je weet in 1 minuut wat je moet regelen.

Belangrijk om te weten! Stop je met studeren? Dan moet je je studiefinanciering stopzetten in Mijn DUO. Ook moet je dan zelf je studentenreisproduct stopzetten om boetes te voorkomen. Dat doe je bij een ophaalautomaat op het station of in de supermarkt. Kijk op duo.nl/stopzetten voor meer informatie.

In the press conference of Friday, 18 June, the caretaker government is taking a big leap back to normal. From 26 June, almost everything is possible again, but the basic rules continue to apply. What a great start of the summer! For X, this means that you are welcome without a face mask, competitions with spectators are possible, the opening hours change to regular times and you can rent out the most beautiful place on campus for events and meetings again!

Sinds kort zijn er zelftesten beschikbaar voor studenten die zij thuis kunnen afnemen om te testen voor Corona. Het ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap wil graag weten hoe studenten deze zelftesten gebruiken en wat zij vinden van de informatie over de zelftesten. Wij hopen dat je hierover een kort vragenlijstje in wilt vullen. Ook als je de zelftesten niet gebruikt, is het belangrijk dat je meedoet. Alleen dan krijgen we een compleet beeld van de argumenten voor het gebruik van zelftesten en de argumenten tegen het gebruik van zelftesten.

Het invullen van de vragenlijst duurt 5-10 minuten en is helemaal anoniem. De onderzoekers weten niets van je en kunnen ook niet zien wie welke antwoorden geeft. Als je meedoet en je vult de vragenlijst helemaal in, maak je kans op een cadeaukaart van bol.com van € 15. Helemaal aan het einde van de vragenlijst staat een linkje dat je kunt gebruiken om je aan te melden voor de verloting van deze cadeaubonnen.

Je kunt de vragenlijst invullen tot en met zondag 4 juli.

It is again again possible (but not compulsory) to allow graduation gatherings on campus under the following conditions:

• No more than 10 guests per graduating student are allowed, in addition to those involved from the faculty.
• Members of the graduation committee and the graduating student are all prepared for the graduation to take place physically. If one of the committee members wants to participate remotely, the chairman will decide whether the on-campus graduation can take place.
• The attendees will abide by the current hygiene and corona rules that apply from the government and at TU Delft.

Afstuderen op campus weer mogelijk onder voorwaarden

Het is weer mogelijk (maar niet verplicht) afstudeerbijeenkomsten op de campus toe te staan onder de volgende voorwaarden:

• Per afstudeerder zijn niet meer dan 10 gasten toegestaan, naast de betrokkenen vanuit de faculteit.
• Leden van de afstudeercommissie en de afstudeerder zijn allen bereid om het afstuderen fysiek plaats te laten vinden. Wanneer 1 van de commissieleden op afstand wil deelnemen zal de voorzitter besluiten of het on-campus afstuderen door kan gaan.
• De aanwezigen houden zich aan de huidige hygiëne- en coronaregels die vanuit de overheid en bij de TU Delft gelden.

Corona is een verschrikkelijke tijd geweest voor iedereen, ook voor studenten. Maatregelen hebben een grote impact gehad op studie, sociaal leven en (mentale) gezondheid, maar toch laten studenten zich niet uit het veld slaan. De ‘Delftse aanpakmentaliteit’ is sterker dan ooit aan het licht gekomen afgelopen anderhalf jaar.

Tijdens dit gesprek met burgemeester Marja van Bijsterveldt, vice-rector Rob Mudde en diverse vertegenwoordigers van maatschappelijk betrokken studentenorganisaties blikken we terug op initiatieven die er zijn neergezet, kijken we vooruit naar het komende (academische) jaar en delen we geleerde lessen van deze turbulente periode.

The pandemic had an immense impact on our lives. We could hardly go to campus or meet-up with fellow students. Universities are preparing for a new academic year with many more in-person teaching activities. The executive board of TU Delft would like to prepare a welcome back on campus for all students. Recently you’ve received an email regarding a survey about your wellbeing as a student at the TU Delft. The year and the coronacrisis are coming to an end. To better understand how the TU Delft can support your wellbeing in the hybrid future of education and to let your voice be heard, please fill out this survey (in Dutch or English). Your comments have not gone unheard. They have inspired wellbeing initiatives in the past year, and filling out this survey will help the TU Delft shape the upcoming academic year!

The Netherland-America Foundation is pleased to offer an Essay Challenge. Sponsored by Dan Adams, one of the founding members of the Biotech industry.  This challenge seeks to elicit ideas from the next generation of thinkers and leaders who will inherit societies whose problems are more complex than ever.  The purpose is to bring to light how the next generation thinks about solutions to global problems.

The essay should address the following question: ‘What global problem worries you the most and how would you propose it could be resolved?’. For example novel virus outbreaks, income inequality, and global warming.

The essay has a word limit of 1000 words, and the deadline for submission is June 30, 2021. The winning three essays will receive awards of $10.000, $5.000 or $2.500 respectively – and will be awarded in the fall at the NAF’s 2021 annual event in New York City.

Fewer and fewer infections and more people being vaccinated: things are moving in the right direction and we are getting more freedom, also on campus. That is just as well, because TU Delft is a campus university. Studying, researching, teaching, working, meeting people… everything takes place on campus whenever possible. Universities have now been asked by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to prepare for a baseline scenario for the new academic year.

What is it and what does it mean for you as a student?
A number of measures still remain, such as voluntary (self-)testing and a maximum group size. You can find the entire base scenario and the other scenarios here (in Dutch). 

More frequent visits to campus again? 
The idea is to gradually allow more people on campus, so that we can gain experience in hosting larger groups on campus. For example, they are looking at public attendance at graduation events, how to organise (fieldlab) events again, and how to spread the influx of people coming to campus. The following prioritization is used in determining who can come to campus:

1. Campus-related activities.
2. Educational activities
3. Non-campus related (office) activities and operation
4. Large meetings (from third parties)

In the meantime, we are also preparing for a time when Covid-19 is so far under control that no measures are needed on campus at all. You will be informed as soon as more is known.

Wat kunnen we verwachten in september?

Steeds minder besmettingen en meer mensen die gevaccineerd zijn: het gaat de goede kant op en we krijgen dus meer ruimte, ook op de campus. Gelukkig maar, want de TU Delft is een campusuniversiteit. Studeren, onderzoeken, doceren, werken, ontmoeten… het vindt bij ons zoveel mogelijk op de campus plaats. Universiteiten hebben nu vanuit het ministerie van OCW het verzoek gekregen om voor te sorteren op een basisscenario  voor het nieuwe academische jaar. Wat is dat scenario en wat betekent dit voor jou als student?

Een aantal maatregelen blijft nog wel bestaan, zoals het vrijwillig (zelf)testen en het hanteren van een maximale groepsgrootte. Je vindt het gehele basisscenario en de overige scenario’s hier.  

Weer vaker naar de campus?

Het idee is om de komende periode geleidelijk meer mensen op de campus toe te laten, zodat ervaring kan worden opgedaan met het ontvangen van grotere groepen op de campus. Zo wordt er gekeken naar de aanwezigheid van publiek bij afstudeerbijeenkomsten, naar hoe we weer (fieldlab)evenementen kunnen organiseren, en hoe de toestroom van mensen naar de campus kan worden gespreid. De volgende prioritering wordt aangehouden bij het bepalen wie er naar de campus kunnen komen:

1. Campusgebonden activiteiten
2. Onderwijsactiviteiten
3. Niet-campusgebonden (kantoor)werkzaamheden en activiteiten
4. Grote bijeenkomsten (van derden)

Ondertussen bereiden we ons ook voor op een  campus als Covid-19 zo ver onder controle is dat er helemaal geen maatregelen meer nodig zijn. Zodra daar meer over bekend is, word je op de hoogte gebracht.

The Introduction Programme kick-starts the incoming Master, Exchange and Bridging students on their new adventure with an exciting and hybrid programme. The programme gives them the chance to get acquainted with the academic culture and the student life at TU Delft. The programme will be a mixture of online and offline events. As a coach, you will mostly contribute to the on-campus parts of the programme.

Are you interested in creating an amazing start for new students?
Then we are looking for YOU!

Who?
As a current TU Delft students (Dutch and international) you apply, are selected and trained to become responsible and sociable coaches to guide and support the new students during the Introduction Programme Campus Days.
You have to be flexible and show initiative to help the campus days run smoothly, and stick to the basic COVID prevention measures. We expect you to have a genuine interest in the well-being of new students, to have knowledge of the educational system of TU Delft, and to be enthusiastic about showing off the campus and the opportunities of joining a student association.

When?
The Introduction Programme Campus Days will take place between Tuesday 17 August – Friday 20 August. You must be available for at least two of the four days. To be selected, you need to attend the coach assessment on 17 or 18 June. If you are selected, you must be available to attend trainings on 7-8 July and 16 August just before the start of the programme. Active participation is absolutely mandatory to be accepted as a coach.
