Stay in touch with each other, also during the holiday period
There is a wide range of activities available, where you can meet other students while taking the measures into account. We have made an overview of the offerings for you on www.tudelft.nl/winter. There you will find information to keep you fit and healthy and a link to the Uni-Life app, which has been expanded with two new functionalities. In addition to an overview of organised events, you can participate in various student WhatsApp groups and organise and promote your own (corona-proof) initiative on Uni-Life.
Take care of yourself and look after your fellow students in this unusual time. Be extra alert and pay attention to each other. Your health and that of your fellow students is the most important thing.
Support during the holiday period
We find it important to also be there for you during the coming holiday period. We are doing this in various ways: if you would like to talk to us about how you are doing, you can contact a study advisor on working days between 10 AM – 4 PM at the special number, 015 – 278 58 73, or via e-mail at wellbeing@tudelft.nl. This telephone number and e-mail address will be answered from 21 to 31 December. For study-related questions, you can contact your own study advisor in the new year. Furthermore, you can always share your story or concerns with a MoTiV coach. They can be reached daily between 4 PM – 6 PM and 8 PM – 10 PM via 015 – 200 60 60 or support@motiv.tudelft.nl. More information about who to contact in case of emergencies or crises, and about support during weekends and holidays can be found on the TU Delft well-being & study page.
Education will take place online at least until 17 January
From Wednesday 16 December 2020 up to and including at least Sunday 17 January 2021, all educational activities will be online, hence no educational activities will take place on campus. An exception will be made for examinations, practicals, design education, graduation work and the supervision of vulnerable students, even if these activities are planned in locations other than university buildings. The study advisor will decide if a student belongs in this group.
By complying with this measure, we can make a contribution to reducing infection rates, which will hopefully enable us to (partially) resume education on campus in the new year.

TU Delft Purple Friday 2020
Friday 11 December it will be ‘Purple Friday’ again at TU Delft. On ‘Purple Friday’ people show their solidarity with young people who are gay, bisexual, lesbian and transgender by wearing purple.
In 2010 Purple Friday was organized for the first time in the Netherlands. It always takes place at the second Friday of December and is organized by the network of Gay-Straight Alliances (GSA) of the gay interest organization of the COC. The reason for starting Purple Friday was the outcome of a research that showed that at 50% of the educational institutions it is not safe for young people to come out of the closet and that the rate of suicides amongst young gay people is five times higher than amongst heterosexual youngsters.
You are warmly invited to celebrate Purple Friday on the TU Delft campus on Friday, December 11th. There are several resources available that you can use to show that you support the Purple Friday goal. Check them out here.
TU Delft is committed to diversity and inclusion – anyone who wishes to study or work here deserves to be valued and to feel at home, irrespective of their sexual orientation, gender, age, background or physical disability. This ensures that everyone can perform to the best of their ability.
True U
True U is TU Delft’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) network. As well as colleagues in this group, the network includes “straight allies” – heterosexuals who support an open culture. For more information or to sign up, go here. You can also follow the network on Instagram.
