Along the campus ring there are six central TU Delft parking locations. Parking on the campus is free. However, please take the high parking pressure into account. Make particular use of P2 (Sports) and P5 (Rotterdamseweg), as there is usually plenty of space there. From there you can walk to your destination. Of course, public transport and cycling are great alternatives for getting to campus.

Preparations are currently being made to install barriers at the parking locations. This is expected to be phased in from Q4 2022. As an employee or student, parking will remain free of charge and you will have access with your campus card. More information can be found here. Parkeerplek nodig? P2 (Sports) en P5 (Rotterdamseweg) hebben ruimte

Langs de campusring zijn er zes centrale TU Delft parkeerlocaties. Parkeren op de campus is gratis. Houd wel rekening met de hoge parkeerdruk. Maak vooral gebruik van P2 (Sports) en P5 (Rotterdamse weg), hier is doorgaans veel ruimte. Vandaar kun je lopend naar je bestemming. Uiteraard zijn het openbaar vervoer en de fiets goede alternatieven om naar de campus te komen.

Momenteel worden de voorbereidingen getroffen voor het plaatsen van slagbomen op de parkeerlocaties. Naar verwachting wordt dit vanaf Q4 2022 gefaseerd ingevoerd. Als medewerker en student blijft parkeren gratis en heb je toegang met je campuskaart. To keep the campus livable, Parkmanagement collects bicycle wrecks twice a year. In order to have sufficient capacity for bicycle racks at the start of the academic year, bicycle wrecks will be collected shortly.

From this June on the bicycle wrecks were labelled with a request to the owner to remove the bicycle. In the week of 22 August the bicycle wrecks will be collected and moved to a depot (situated at Mekelweg). There they will be kept locked up. The owner can collect his or her bicycle from Monday 29 August to Friday 1 October. Collection is only possible by appointment; on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, between 08.00 and 12.00 hours. Please contact Parkmanagement (Parkmanagement-cre@tudelft.nl) beforehand in order to make an appointment so that someone can come to the depot to grant access.

Verwijderen fietswrakken

Om de campus leefbaar te houden verzamelt Parkmanagement tweemaal per jaar fietswrakken in. Om genoeg plekken in de fietsenrekken te hebben bij de start van het academisch jaar worden fietswrakken komende tijd verzameld.

Vanaf eind juni zijn de fietswrakken voorzien van een label met het verzoek aan de eigenaar om de fiets te verwijderen. In de week van 22 augustus worden de wrakken ingezameld en naar een depot (aan de Mekelweg) verplaatst. Daar staan ze op slot. De eigenaar kan vanaf maandag 29 augustus tot en met vrijdag 1 oktober zijn of haar fiets ophalen. Afhalen kan enkel op afspraak; op maandag, dinsdag, donderdag en vrijdag, tussen 08.00 en 12.00 uur. Graag hiervoor mailen naar Parkmanagement (parkmanagement-cre@tudelft.nl). Via die weg wordt een afspraak gemaakt zodat iemand naar het depot kan gaan om toegang te verlenen.

High-profile visitors during Delft’s Reception Week (OWee) and Introduction Programme (IP) for new students: Her Majesty Queen Máxima and Minister Dijkgraaf of Education, Culture and Science visited the Activity Market and talked to students about mental well-being. Queen Máxima is honorary president of the MIND Us foundation, which is dedicated to the mental health of young people between the ages of 12 and 27. Student welfare is a subject that is also high on the agenda of both Minister Dijkgraaf and TU Delft.

During the annual reception week, new students get to know the campus, the city of Delft, student organizations and of course each other. Wednesday 24 August saw the activities market, where more than 60 different sports, cultural and social associations introduced themselves to the students. “During the OWee and the IP, students start building a vital social network; leisure activities and associations can play an important role in this. In the past few years we have seen that having to do without this has a negative impact on the well-being of our students,” says Rob Mudde, Vice Rector Magnificus and Vice President Education of TU Delft.

The OWee, the Reception Week, is the multi-day introduction for all incoming first-year bachelor students at TU Delft, InHolland University of Applied Sciences and The Hague University of Applied Sciences. For master’s students, exchange and transition students, TU Delft organises the Introduction Programme (IP).

During the market, Queen Máxima and Minister Dijkgraaf visited LGBT+ youth association Outsite, platform for students with a disability Student Onbeperkt (Student Unlimited), student jazz association Groover and football association Ariston. Afterwards, they spoke about the mental well-being of students with, among others, a student psychologist, a student advisor, a lecturer, the student official of the municipality of Delft and, of course, with students themselves.

The MIND Us Foundation, of which Queen Máxima is honorary president, is committed to bringing the mental problems of young people to the attention of the public and develops initiatives to increase the mental health of young people. A working visit like this supplies MIND Us with important input. Rob Mudde also joined the dialogue: “Students are under increasing pressure to perform in all sorts of areas and this can jeopardise their well-being. This is a problem that we can only tackle together and that starts with talking about it. In that sense, this meeting is also very important for us as a university.”

Minister Dijkgraaf: “The mental well-being of students is an important issue. I find the figures worrying: a lot of students struggle with mental problems, especially international students and bicultural students. We are going to focus more on prevention, such as making students more resilient and ensuring an inclusive and supportive study environment. We also see that being in touch with the educational institution and with fellow students, reduces stress and increases resilience. Moreover, this personal contact also makes students more inclined to raise the alarm if they are not doing well, and often helps them find support. Institutions of higher education are working together with student organisations on preventative measures. I have made €15 million available annually for this integral approach to student welfare for the coming years, with €1 million available as soon as 2022.”

Koningin Máxima en minister Dijkgraaf bezoeken ontvangstweek TU Delft

Hoog bezoek tijdens de Delftse Ontvangstweek (OWee) en het Introduction Programme (IP)  voor nieuwe studenten: Hare Majesteit Koningin Máxima en minister Dijkgraaf van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap kwamen langs bij de Activiteitenmarkt en spraken met studenten over mentaal welzijn. Koningin Máxima is erevoorzitter van de stichting MIND Us die zich inzet voor de mentale gezondheid van jongeren tussen de 12 en 27. Studentenwelzijn is een onderwerp dat ook bij de minister én bij TU Delft hoog op agenda staat.

Tijdens de jaarlijkse ontvangstweek maken nieuwe Delftse studenten kennis met de campus, de stad Delft, studentenorganisaties en natuurlijk met elkaar. Woensdag 24 augustus stond de activiteitenmarkt op het programma, waar meer dan 60 verschillende sport-, cultuur- en maatschappelijke verenigingen zich aan de studenten voorstelden. “Tijdens de OWee en het IP beginnen studenten met het opbouwen van een zo belangrijk sociaal netwerk; vrijetijdsactiviteiten en -verenigingen kunnen daar een belangrijke rol in spelen. We hebben de afgelopen paar jaar gezien dat het wegvallen hiervan een negatieve invloed heeft op het welzijn van onze studenten,” zegt Rob Mudde, Vice Rector Magnificus en Vice-President Education van TU Delft.

De OWee, de OntvangstWeek, is de meerdaagse introductie voor alle aankomende eerstejaars bachelorstudenten van de TU Delft, de Hogeschool InHolland en de Haagse Hogeschool. Voor master-, uitwisselings- en schakelstudenten organiseert de TU Delft het Introduction Programme (IP).

Koningin Máxima en minister Dijkgraaf brachten tijdens de markt een bezoek aan LHBT+ jongerenvereniging Outsite, platform Student Onbeperkt voor studenten met een functiebeperking, studentenjazzvereniging Groover en voetbalvereniging Ariston. Aansluitend spraken ze over het mentale welzijn van studenten met onder meer een studentenpsycholoog, een studieadviseur, een docent, de studentambtenaar van de gemeente Delft en natuurlijk met studenten zelf.

De Stichting MIND Us, waar Koningin Máxima erevoorzitter van is, zet zich in om de mentale problemen van jongeren onder de aandacht te brengen en ontwikkelt initiatieven om de mentale gezondheid van jongeren te vergroten. Een werkbezoek als dit geeft MIND Us hiervoor belangrijke input. Ook Rob Mudde sloot aan bij het gesprek: “Studenten staan onder steeds meer druk om op allerlei gebieden te presteren en daar kan hun welzijn bij in het gedrang komen. Dat is een probleem dat we alleen samen kunnen aanpakken en dat begint bij erover te praten. In die zin is dit gesprek ook voor ons als universiteit heel belangrijk.”

Minister Dijkgraaf: “De mentale gezondheid van studenten is een urgent thema. Ik vind de cijfers zorgwekkend: veel studenten worstelen met mentale klachten, vooral internationale studenten en biculturele studenten. We gaan meer nadruk leggen op preventie, zoals studenten weerbaarder en veerkrachtiger maken en zorgen voor een inclusief en steunend studieklimaat. We zien ook dat contact met de onderwijsinstelling en met medestudenten zorgt voor minder stress en meer veerkracht. En persoonlijk contact zorgt ervoor dat studenten sneller aan de bel trekken als het niet goed met ze gaat en vaak vinden ze zo ook beter de weg naar hulp. Hoger onderwijsinstellingen werken samen met de studentenbonden aan preventiemaatregelen. Voor die integrale aanpak studentenwelzijn heb ik de komende jaren jaarlijks € 15 miljoen jaarlijks vrijgemaakt, en € 1 miljoen al in 2022.”

From 21 to 25 August, this year’s OntvangstWeek (OWee) will take place in Delft. During these days, all kinds of events will be organised in the city and around the campus for the incoming first-year students of Delft. With these events we hope the new students get to know the campus, each other and the city better so that they can get off to a good start with a new phase in their lives!

During this week, the car park on the Van Der Waalsweg will be used for various events. The car park at the Van Der Waalsweg will be closed from Thursday the 18th of August 00.00 hrs until Friday the 26th of August 17.00 hrs. Please check whether you can travel to the campus by public transport or by bike on these days. Are you coming by car? Then you can park at P-TNW at the Van der Maasweg.

Minder parkeerplaatsen in verband met de OntvangstWeek (OWee)

Van 21 tot en met 25 augustus vindt dit jaar de OntvangstWeek (OWee) in Delft plaats. Gedurende deze dagen worden in de stad en rondom de campus allerlei evenementen georganiseerd voor de aankomend eerstejaars studenten van Delft. Met deze evenementen hopen we dat de nieuwe studenten de campus, elkaar en de stad beter leren kennen zodat ze goed van start kunnen gaan met een nieuwe fase in hun leven!

Tijdens deze week wordt de parkeerplaats aan de Van Der Waalsweg gebruikt voor verschillende evenementen. De parkeerplaats aan de van der Waalsweg zal van donderdag 18 augustus 00.00 uur t/m vrijdag 26 augustus 17.00 uur afgesloten worden. Kijk of je op deze dagen per openbaar vervoer of op de fiets naar de campus kunt reizen. Kom je met de auto? Dan kun je parkeren op P-TNW aan de Van der Maasweg.
