STARTUP – TU Delft MIT GFSA competition 2015
Apply to be the only Dutch university student group in Summer 2015 at the MIT Global Founders’ Skills Accelerator!
You have the chance to join the Global Founders’ Skills Accelerator programme together with select teams of MIT students and several foreign universities. Due to the unique collaboration between Delft University of Technology and MIT, it is possible for a team of Delft students to join this programme. The MIT Global Founders’ Skills Accelerator (MIT GFSA) is the premier university student accelerator in the world. It offers a three-month entrepreneurial summer school programme at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for students to round out their multi-dimensional entrepreneurial experience. Applications are open for teams of two to five students in the final phase of their studies or who are doing a PhD.
To get this opportunity, students will have to apply for STARTUP, the TU Delft MIT GFSA competition. The winning team will get the three-summer-month programme with travel expenses, cost of residence and a monthly stipend fully sponsored by the TU Delft and RVO as well as the chance to earn up to $20,000 based on its progress against monthly milestones.

11 November Research Exhibition in Library
DIG-it! – TU Delft Research Exhibition
Op 11 november 2014 zal de research community van TU Delft meer dan 80 onderzoeksprojecten presenteren in TU Delft Library.
Op 11 november studeren in de Library?
Op 11 november is de Library uiteraard ook open om te studeren. Er zijn echter wel een paar aanpassingen:
- Toegang tot de Library via een alternatieve ingang aan de Schoemakerstraat
- Er is extra studieruimte op level 0
- Alternatieve uitleenbalie (boeken uit de wand worden voor je opgehaald!)
- Alternatief servicepunt
- Hele dag gratis koffie en thee!
Verder zijn alleen de rode, oranje en glazen zaal beschikbaar. Alle andere ruimtes zijn dus niet beschikbaar! En ook al is de reproruimte dicht, er wordt voor genoeg printfaciliteiten gezorgd.

DIG-it! – TU Delft Research Exhibition
On 11 November 2014, TU Delft’s research community will present over 80 research projects at TU Delft Library.
Study in the Library on 11 November?
The Library will be available for study purposes on 11 November. However, there will be some adjustments and changes:
- Access to the Library via an alternative entrance on the Schoemakerstraat
- There will be additional study spaces on level 0
- Alternative location for the check-out desk (books from our book shelves will be picked up for you)
- Alternative location for servicepoint
- Free coffee and tea all day!
Please note that only the red, orange and glass hall are available. And even though this also means the repro will be closed, plenty of other printing facilities will be provided.

Design the future of aviation / Ontwerp de toekomst van de luchtvaart

Fly around the world without hassle, passenger-based travel and pilot-based flying. What will flying be like in 2020 if modern media are fully integrated and used? What if we start using personalized, individual real time data, instead of predictions based on big data?
The question is how YOU would design aviation if no strings were attached.
Meet people from the industry, gather information and inspire with your ideas!
Work in a multidisciplinary team of enthusiastic students and graduates to develop a proof of concept of your combined vision, to be presented in many fora, such as Directors team of the industry. The challenge will last for the entire second period (starting 10-11-2014 and ending at 08-02-2015) and will require at least 2 days a week of work.

Vlieg de wereld over zonder problemen, passagiers-gebaseerd vervoer en piloot-gebaseerd vliegen. Hoe is vliegen in 2020 als moderne media volledig zijn geïntegreerd en volop worden gebruikt? Wat als gepersonaliseerde individuele actuele data worden gebruikt in plaats van voorspellingen op basis van big data?
De vraag is hoe JIJ de toekomst van de luchtvaart zou ontwerpen als er geen limieten zijn.
Ontmoet mensen uit de industrie, verzamel informatie en inspireer met je ideeën!
Werk in een divers team van enthousiaste studenten en afgestudeerden om een proof-of-concept te ontwerpen van jullie combineerde visie, die gepresenteerd wordt op verschillende fora, zoals het Directors team van de industrie. Dit project loopt gedurende de gehele tweede periode (startend op 10 november tot 8 februari) en vereist minstens twee dagen per week aan inzet.

Wiskunde- & Mechanica helpdesk / Maths & Mechanics help desk
Bachelorstudenten kunnen tijdens de tentamenperiode in de centrale bibliotheek gratis hulp krijgen bij hun wiskunde- en mechanicasommen.
Vanuit huis kunnen ook vragen gesteld worden via Blackboard IM (helpdesk Maths & Mechanics). Blackboard IM is de Instant Message-applicatie van de TU Delft en is standaard links onderin je Blackboard startpagina te vinden.
Tegemoetkoming Woonlasten Kamerhuurders 2014 (TWK) / Possible refund if you live in a student room
Huur je een onzelfstandige woonruimte in Delft, zoals een kamer in een studentenhuis? En kun je geen kwijtschelding van de gemeentelijke heffingen (rioolafvoerrecht en afvalstoffenheffing) aanvragen, omdat deze in je huur of servicekosten zijn opgenomen? Dan is er speciaal voor jou de Tegemoetkoming Woonlasten Kamerhuurders (TWK).
De tegemoetkoming kan oplopen tot 135 euro. Tot 31 december 2014 kun je digitaal een aanvraag indienen voor 2014. Ga hiervoor naar de website van de gemeente Delft.
