During this week, the car park on the Van der Waalsweg will be used for various events, such as the opening party and the Cantus Sing-Along. The Van Der Waalsweg car park will be closed from Thursday 10 August 00.00 hrs to Friday 18 August 17.00 hrs (marked blue in the picture, the red marked spaces will be partially available from Monday 14 August). Please check if you can get to campus by public transport or by bike on these days. Coming by car? You can park at P-Sports (van den Broekweg) or P-TNW (van der Maasweg).

Afsluiting Parkeerplaats bij de Library

De OntvangstWeek (OWee) vindt dit jaar plaats in Delft van 13 tot en met 17 augustus. Tijdens deze week wordt het parkeerterrein aan de Van der Waalsweg gebruikt voor verschillende evenementen, zoals het openingsfeest en de Cantus Sing-Along. Het parkeerterrein aan de Van der Waalsweg is afgesloten van donderdag 10 augustus 00.00 uur tot vrijdag 18 augustus 17.00 uur (blauw gemarkeerd op de foto, de rood gemarkeerde plaatsen zijn vanaf maandag 14 augustus gedeeltelijk beschikbaar). Controleer of je op deze dagen met het openbaar vervoer of de fiets naar de campus kunt komen. Kom je met de auto? Je kunt parkeren bij P-Sports (van den Broekweg) of P-TNW (van der Maasweg).

On Saturday 19 August, necessary maintenance will be carried out on network equipment on campus. This will cause a network interruption of 5 to a maximum of 30 minutes. In order to minimise the disturbance for staff and students, it has been decided to carry out the work during a weekend.

Maintenance details
The maintenance work will take place on Saturday 19 August from 10:00 to 14:00. During this period, the network will be unavailable for 5 to a maximum of 30 minutes. This means that applications and systems requiring a network connection to TU Delft’s network will not work for several minutes. This applies to all types of network connections: network via cable and Wi-Fi.

Extra ICT werkzaamheden op zaterdag 19 augustus

Op zaterdag 19 augustus wordt er noodzakelijk onderhoud uitgevoerd aan netwerkapparatuur op de campus. Hierdoor zal een netwerkonderbreking optreden van 5 tot maximaal 30 minuten. Om medewerkers en studenten zo min mogelijk te belasten, is gekozen de werkzaamheden in een weekend uit te voeren.

Details werkzaamheden
De werkzaamheden zullen op zaterdag 19 augustus van 10:00 tot 14:00 uur plaatsvinden. In deze periode zal het netwerk 5 tot maximaal 30 minuten niet beschikbaar zijn. Dat betekent dat de applicaties en systemen waarvoor een netwerkverbinding met het netwerk van de TU Delft nodig is, een aantal minuten niet zullen werken. Dit geldt voor alle soorten netwerkverbindingen: netwerk via kabel and wifi.

Starting from the upcoming academic year, free Adobe Creative Cloud licences will no longer be available due to changes in the license terms of the contract. Temporary free licences will expire on 31 August 2023. However, you have the option to purchase your own Adobe Creative Cloud licence at a discount. Go to Surfspot.nl and log in with your NetID to purchase an Adobe Creative Cloud – Student. The cost for one year is currently €129 including VAT. You can also purchase a monthly subscription directly from Adobe for €19.66 per month.

Note: If you are using Adobe’s cloud storage to store data related to Creative Cloud applications, you will need to secure that data by storing it elsewhere before 31 August 2023.

Adobe Creative Cloud licenties komen te vervallen

Vanaf aankomend acadmisch jaar zullen kosteloze Adobe Creative Cloud licenties niet langer beschikbaar zijn vanwege aanpassingen in de licentievoorwaarden van het contract. De tijdelijk gratis beschikbare licenties komen te vervallen per 31 augustus 2023. Je hebt echter de mogelijkheid om zelf een Adobe Creative Cloud licentie aan te schaffen met korting. Via Surfspot.nl kun je inloggen met je NetID waarna je een licentie kunt aanschaffen voor Adobe Creative Cloud – Student. De kosten voor een jaar bedragen momenteel €129,- incl. btw. Daarnaast kun je ook rechtstreeks bij Adobe een maandelijks abonnement afsluiten voor €19,66 per maand. 

Let op: Als je gebruik maakt van de Cloud opslag van Adobe om data op te slaan die gerelateerd is aan Creative Cloud applicaties, dan dien je deze data zelf voor 31 augustus 2023 veilig te stellen door ze op een andere plek op te slaan.

Even if you already have a student loan. It is easy to arrange. If you apply before 1 September, you can be sure of receiving your first payment by the end of September.

The basic grant
Like the supplementary grant and the student travel product, the basic grant is a gift if you graduate within 10 years. The amount you receive depends on your living situation. If you live at home, you will receive €110.30 per month; if you live away from home, you will receive €439.20 per month (€274.90 basic grant + €164.30 temporary increase due to the purchasing power measure for the academic year 2023-2024).

Vraag nu jouw basisbeurs aan

Studeer je na de zomer in het hbo of aan de universiteit? En heb je nog recht op prestatiebeurs? Dan is de basisbeurs er vanaf nu ook voor jou. Je moet de basisbeurs nog wel zelf aanvragen bij DUO. Ook als je al studiefinanciering hebt. Dat is zo geregeld. Als je hem voor 1 september aanvraagt, dan weet je zeker dat je de eerste betaling al eind september krijgt.

De basisbeurs
De basisbeurs is net als de aanvullende beurs en het studentenreisproduct een gift als je binnen 10 jaar je diploma behaalt. Hoeveel je kunt krijgen, hangt af van je woonsituatie. Als je thuiswonend bent krijg je €110,30 per maand, als je uitwonend bent € 439,20 per maand (€ 274,90 basisbeurs + € 164,30 tijdelijke verhoging door de koopkrachtmaatregel voor studiejaar 2023-2024).

Aanvragen
Vraag de basisbeurs nu aan op duo.nl/stufi2023. Daar vind je ook meer informatie en de voorwaarden.

A new teaching building called Flux will be opened on the campus of TU Delft as of September 4th. Flux will be located in the centre of the campus – between Cornelis Drebbelweg, Leeghwaterstraat, Korvezeestraat, and Feldmannweg. The building has been developed to accommodate the growing number of students with additional teaching rooms and study spaces. It is possible to attend lectures, as well as study in the designated study areas. The building is special, as it is temporary and demountable. It is expected to remain in place for five to ten years, after which it may be rebuilt and reused in another location. The building is primarily sustainable, partly because it is demountable, but also because it has LED lighting, solar panels, circular floorboards and a full range of refurbished furniture. The construction of Flux is already in full swing and we hope to see you there from September 4th onwards!

Nieuw onderwijsgebouw Flux open vanaf 4 september

Vanaf 4 september opent er een nieuw onderwijsgebouw genaamd Flux op de campus van TU Delft. Flux zal in het midden van de campus komen te staan – tussen de Cornelis Drebbelweg, Leeghwaterstraat, Korvezeestraat en Feldmannweg. Het gebouw is ontwikkeld om het toenemende aantal studenten te kunnen voorzien van extra onderwijszalen en studieplekken. Het is mogelijk om hier colleges te volgen, maar ook om te studeren op de daarvoor bestemde studieplekken. Het gaat om een bijzonder gebouw, aangezien het een tijdelijk en demontabel gebouw is. Naar verwachting zal het gebouw voor vijf tot tien jaar blijven staan en daarna eventueel op een andere locatie opnieuw opgebouwd en hergebruikt worden. Het gebouw is voornamelijk duurzaam, mede doordat het een demontabel gebouw is, maar ook door de voorzieningen van LED-verlichting, zonnepanelen, circulaire vloerdelen en volledige inrichting van refurbished meubilair. Het ‘bouwen’ is al in volle gang en we hopen jullie er vanaf 4 september te zien!

Scammers are active, mainly targeting international students of Chinese origin at TU Delft. The scammers are allegedly acting on behalf of the Chinese police. They first announce that the students’ Citizen Service Number (CSN) has been found in connection with crimes such as drug trafficking. They threaten that their CSN will be taken away unless they prove their innocence.

They then force the student to transfer money to the fraudster’s bank account in China. They isolate the student and tell them not to contact anyone. If they refuse, family members will be arrested in their home country. Large sums of money are involved. The families go bankrupt, leaving the victim with too little money to live on and the student has to return home. The police in Delft have asked TU Delft to pay attention to this problem and to raise awareness about it at TU Delft.

Pas op: oplichters actief!

Er zijn oplichters actief die zich voornamelijk richten op internationale studenten van Chinese afkomst bij onder andere TU Delft. De oplichters opereren zogenaamd in opdracht van de Chinese politie. Zij verkondigen eerst het verhaal dat het BSN van de studenten is gevonden bij misdaden zoals drugshandel. Zij dreigen dat hun BSN wordt afgenomen als zij hun onschuld niet bewijzen.

Zij dwingen vervolgens studenten geldbedragen over te maken naar de bankrekening van de oplichters in China. Zij houden de student geïsoleerd en zeggen dat ze met niemand contact mogen hebben. Bij weigering zouden familieleden in het thuisland gearresteerd worden. Het gaat hierbij om grote sommen geld. Families raken bankroet en als gevolg hiervan heeft het slachtoffer te weinig financiële middelen om van te leven en dient de student terug te keren naar huis. De politie in Delft heeft TU Delft gevraagd hier aandacht aan te besteden en om bewustwording te creëren over dit onderwerp bij de TU Delft.

This academic year, the resits will take place in week 5.3 (Monday 17 July to Friday 21 July). Some results of the regular exams will not be announced until 10 days before the resit week. However, registration for an exam closes 14 days beforehand. This means that registration for the resit is closed before you receive your results. 

To be on the safe side, therefore, register now for the resit in week 5.3 to ensure that you can attend the resit if necessary.

Immediately de-register for the resit as soon as you receive the mark for the regular exam and know that you do not need a resit. This way, you create space for students who are on the waiting list and do need to take the exam. It also avoids unnecessary booking of rooms and invigilators, resulting in efficiency and cost savings. You also avoid unnecessary printing of exams. Good luck with your exam(s) this week and thank you for your cooperation!

Schrijf je nu in voor de hertentamens van 17 tot 21 juli

Dit collegejaar vinden de hertentamens plaats in week 5.3 (maandag 17 juli t/m vrijdag 21 juli). De resultaten van sommige reguliere tentamens kunnen pas 10 dagen voor de herkansingsweek bekend worden gemaakt. Echter, de inschrijving voor een tentamen sluit 14 dagen van tevoren. Dit betekent dat de inschrijving voor de herkansing al is gesloten voordat je je resultaten ontvangt.

Schrijf je daarom voor de zekerheid nu al in voor de herkansing in week 5.3, om ervoor te zorgen dat je eventueel kunt deelnemen aan de herkansing.

Schrijf je direct weer uit voor de herkansing, zodra je het cijfer voor het reguliere tentamen ontvangt en weet dat je geen herkansing nodig hebt. Op deze manier creëren jullie ruimte voor studenten die op de wachtlijst staan en het tentamen wel moeten maken. Bovendien voorkomen we hiermee dat er onnodig veel zalen en surveillanten worden ingeroosterd, wat efficiëntie en kostenbesparing met zich meebrengt. Daarnaast voorkom je het onnodig printen van tentamens. Veel succes met de tentamen(s) deze week en dank voor de medewerking!

The TU Delft car parks are currently being equipped with barriers and related systems. The car parks will remain accessible 24 hours a day. As a student, this means that you will have access to the TU Delft car parks with your campus card. It is also possible to link your number plate to your campus card, so that the barriers open automatically when your number plate is recognised. This makes it easier and quicker to get in and out. In order to make the most efficient use of parking spaces, you can park for free for a maximum of 48 consecutive hours. Parking for more than 48 hours? Then you can park between 08.00 and 18.00 Monday to Friday at the visitor rate. There will be no inconvenience to motorists during the works. Read more about the new parking policy here.

Ingang parkeerregulering start collegejaar 2023/2024
Momenteel worden de TU Delft parkeerlocaties voorzien van slagbomen en de bijbehorende systemen. De parkeerterreinen blijven 24/7 toegankelijk. Als student betekent dit dat je met je campuskaart toegang tot de TU Delft parkeerlocaties krijgt. Het is daarnaast ook mogelijk om je kenteken aan je campuskaart te koppelen, zodat de slagbomen automatisch omhoog gaan zodra je kenteken wordt herkend. Dan rijd je dus gemakkelijker en sneller in en uit. Om zo efficiënt mogelijk met de parkeerplaatsen om te gaan kan je maximaal 48 uur aaneengesloten gratis parkeren. Parkeer je langer dan 48 uur? Dan zal je parkeren tegen het bezoekerstarief op maandag t/m vrijdag tussen 08.00 en 18.00 uur. Tijdens de werkzaamheden zullen automobilisten geen hinder ondervinden.
