On 26 November the government announced additional COVID measures. Fortunately, education remains open, in the daytime as well as in the evenings. The maximum group size of 75 persons in an independent room where education is given remains in force.

It is still important to comply with the basic measures. For the catering industry, amateur sport and non-essential shops, additional restrictive measures have been announced from 28 November. Catering, sports facilities and X will be closed from 17:00. The new measures will apply at least until 19 December.

Corona update: nieuwe maatregelen aangekondigd

Op 26 november jl. heeft het kabinet opnieuw nieuwe coronamaatregelen aangekondigd om het coronavirus in bedwang te krijgen. Het onderwijs blijft gelukkig open, ook ’s avonds. De groepsgrootte van 75 personen in een zelfstandige ruimte waar onderwijs wordt gegeven blijft van kracht.

Daarnaast blijft het belangrijk om de basismaatregelen na te leven. Voor horeca, amateursport en niet essentiële winkels zijn wel aanvullende beperkende maatregelen afgekondigd vanaf 28 november. Horeca-, sportfaciliteiten en X zijn gesloten vanaf 17.00 uur. De nieuwe maatregelen gelden in ieder geval tot 19 december.

With effect from 15 October 2021, the TU Delft has four new internal confidential advisers. They serve as the point of contact, sounding board and guide for TU Delft students, staff members and guests confronted by undesirable behaviour or a suspected breach of integrity.

The team of confidential advisers now has a total of seven members. The four new members are Giorgia Giardina (CEG), Ada van Gulik (EEMCS), Christiaan Mooiman (Applied Sciences) and Marlies Nijemeisland (AE). You can contact them with questions and issues relating to undesirable behaviour and organisational integrity. Two other members of the team, Jenny Dankelman (3mE) and Bernard Dam (Applied Sciences), specialise in academic integrity. The seventh team member is Sandra van der Hor, TU Delft’s external confidential adviser.

Support and advice
The most important task of the team of confidential advisers involves providing assistance and arranging referrals for TU Delft students, staff members and guests who face undesirable behaviour or other potential breaches of integrity. In addition, confidential advisers can also provide information and they advise management and administrators on developments in the field of integrity and social safety. All confidential advisers are accessible to everyone at TU Delft: it is up to you which one you turn to.

Uitbreiding team vertrouwenspersonen TU Delft

Met ingang van 15 oktober 2021 heeft de TU Delft vier nieuwe interne vertrouwenspersonen. Zij zijn aanspreekpunt, klankbord en wegwijzer voor studenten, medewerkers en gasten van de TU Delft die geconfronteerd worden met ongewenst gedrag of een vermoeden van een integriteitsschending.

Het team vertrouwenspersonen telt nu in totaal zeven leden. De vier nieuwkomers zijn Giorgia Giardina (CiTG), Ada van Gulik (EWI), Christiaan Mooiman (TNW) en Marlies Nijemeisland (LR). Je kunt bij hen terecht met vragen en kwesties op het gebied van ongewenst gedrag en organisatorische integriteit. Twee andere leden van het team, Jenny Dankelman (3mE) en Bernard Dam (TNW), hebben wetenschappelijke integriteit als speciaal aandachtsgebied. Het zevende teamlid is Sandra van der Hor, de externe vertrouwenspersoon van de TU Delft.

Steun en advies
De belangrijkste taak van het team vertrouwenspersonen is het opvangen en eventueel doorverwijzen van studenten, medewerkers of gasten van de TU Delft die te maken krijgen met ongewenst gedrag of andere mogelijke integriteitsschendingen. Daarnaast kunnen vertrouwenspersonen voorlichting geven en adviseren zij management en bestuur over ontwikkelingen op het gebied van integriteit en sociale veiligheid. Alle vertrouwenspersonen zijn toegankelijk voor iedereen die aan de TU Delft verbonden is; je kunt dus zelf kiezen tot wie je je wendt.

What is it about?

The Delft High Performance Computing Centre (DHPC) provides the facilities (hardware, software and training) for researchers and students in order to be able to run complex analyses and simulations.

Every year, DHPC makes arrangements with faculties and research groups about the distribution of capacity: ‘fairshare’ use.

• Any employee with a NetID can log on to supercomputer DelftBlue and use the system as a guest user with limited capacity. A guest status offers the possibility to explore the system and experiment with limited capacity.
• If an employee actually wants to use DelftBlue, an request for access and use of the ‘fairshare’ of a faculty (or project) can be submitted.
• Teachers who want to use DelftBlue for teaching a course or for a MSc project can apply for customised access. For example, access for a student/group of students, a reservation of resources for a practicum and specific software.
• Students do not get access by default. However, with the permission of their supervisor, they can request access to and use of DelftBlue. This can be for a course, a BSc or MSc project.

• Studenten krijgen standaard geen toegang, maar kunnen met goedkeuring van hun begeleider een aanvraag doen voor toegang   en gebruik van DelftBlue. Dit kan zijn voor een vak, een BSc of MSc project.

A one-day conference for students and teachers to encourage working across disciplines

Conference ‘Convergence in practice’
On Friday December 3rd, 2021, TU Delft, Erasmus University and Erasmus Medical Center will hold a one-day in-person conference for students and faculty to encourage working across disciplines both in education and research. Inspired by our multidisciplinary education programs, this day will feature presentations and posters, as well as speeddates in which we match people from different fields and ages, with opportunities to interact in a friendly environment. We hope the conference allows for both students and faculty to reflect, discover new connections, and (re)define future perspectives.
