Have you completed the final part of your study? Please be aware that you need to send a request to terminate your enrolment through Studielink as it will not be done automatically. When you terminate your enrolment at TU Delft, you are entitled to a refund of one twelfth of the annual tuition fee for each month of the academic year in which you are no longer enrolled, with the exception of termination as from July and August. 

Enrolment termination with retroactive effect is not possible.

Be aware! If you are not enrolled and you still use educational or examination facilities (including taking exams) there will be financial consequences. It can also affect your student grants and/or student travel product.

Ben je op zoek naar een studieplek op de campus? Via Spacefinder bekijk je de openingstijden en beschikbare voorzieningen van elke studieplek. Daarnaast kun je zien hoe druk het is in de verschillende gebouwen op dit moment hoewel de bezettingsgraadindicator in ontwikkeling is en tijdelijk indicatief is.

Every year in October all faculties hold ‘Study Abroad Week’ events whereby they give presentations about the possibilities of going abroad as part of your study programme. They provide information regarding the partners, destinations, and application process. This academic year the Study Abroad Sessions will be held from 14 – 18 October (except for the Faculty of Applied Sciences, they will hold the week from 21 – 25 October).

Twice a year you have the opportunity to follow a one-week intensive course, organized by several European Universities. This program is called the ATHENS programme (Advanced Technology Higher Education Network, Socrates). Each course also boasts its own social program. You can earn 2 ECTS and the ATHENS compensation of €100,- as a contribution to the travel abroad. The Athens November Session will take place from November 16 to 23 November 2024 and the deadline for application is 25 September 2024. See links below for more information:

Twee keer per jaar heb je als Master student van TU Delft mogelijkheid om een intensieve cursus van een week te volgen bij een van top Europese Universiteiten. Dit programma heet het ATHENS-Programma (Advanced Technology Higher Education Network, Socrates). Bij cursus is er een eigen sociaal programma inbegrepen. Je kunt 2 ECTS en de ATHENS-vergoeding van € 100,- verdienen als bijdrage aan de buitenlandse reis. Mobility, food supply, healthcare, energy supply and the way we use raw materials: all will change dramatically in this century. At TU Delft, we can help shape these transitions. What we do here can influence how businesses as well as end users behave. Take our smartphones, most of whose gold and lithium still ends up in landfill after a few years. If you design them differently from the start, you can achieve ‘zero waste’ at the end – and this is just one example.

Our guests include Michiel Langezaal, alumnus and CEO of FastNed, the company building a network of fast-charging points along Europe’s motorways. We talk to Dream Team Epoch, which aims to use AI to contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. We also welcome Irek Roslon, alumnus and founder of SoundCell, the startup developing a screening that allows doctors to choose the right antibiotics for patients at lightning speed. They will talk about their paths to the future, the building blocks they need and the obstacles they face. How they are shaping their own and our future, and who they are working with. 

Music and dance will also be part of this festive gathering.  And at the end, we will all raise a glass to the new academic year!

At TU Delft we are constantly working to improve the information we provide to our students. On 14 August, the revamped TU Delft Student Portal was launched. To make it easier to find information, the layout has been optimised and both the look and accessibility have been improved.

What has changed?
The homepage has been given a modern look and offers a clearer overview of where to find what information. The main topic areas have been designed in consultation with students to better meet their expectations. The search function has been improved and is now prominently displayed on the homepage, with the ability to filter search results by faculty. This allows you to quickly find information about your faculty. Student News is also now available on the Student Portal.

What does this mean for you?
If you have bookmarked certain pages on the Student Portal, they may have moved to a new location, which may result in a 404 message. Visit the revamped Student Portal to (re)find your favourite pages.

Ontdek de vernieuwde TU Delft Studentenportal

Bij TU Delft werken we voortdurend aan het verbeteren van de informatievoorziening voor studenten. Op 14 augustus is de vernieuwde TU Delft Studentenportal gelanceerd. Om informatie gemakkelijker vindbaar te maken, is de indeling geoptimaliseerd en zijn zowel de uitstraling als toegankelijkheid verbeterd.

Wat is er veranderd?
De homepage heeft een moderne look gekregen en biedt duidelijker overzicht van waar je welke informatie kunt vinden. De indeling in hoofdonderwerpen is samen met studenten ontworpen, waardoor deze beter aansluit op hun verwachtingen. De zoekfunctie is verbeterd en nu prominent aanwezig op de homepage, met de mogelijkheid om zoekresultaten per faculteit te filteren. Hierdoor kun je snel de informatie van jouw faculteit vinden. Ook is Student News nu beschikbaar op de Studentenportal.

Wat betekent dit voor jou?
Als je bepaalde pagina’s van de Studentenportal als favoriet hebt gemarkeerd, kan het zijn dat deze een nieuwe locatie hebben gekregen, wat kan resulteren in een 404-melding. Bezoek de vernieuwde Studentenportal om je favoriete pagina’s (terug) te vinden.

From 18 to 22 August, this year’s Introduction Week (OWee) will take place in Delft. During these days, all kinds of events will be organised in the city and around the campus for the incoming first-year students of Delft. With these events, we hope the new students get to know the campus, each other and the city better. So that they can get off to a good start with a new phase in their lives!

During this week, the car park on the Van Der Waalsweg will be used for various events such as the Opening Party and the Cantus Sing-Along. The car park at the Van Der Waalsweg will be closed from Wednesday the 14th of August 17.00 hrs until Friday the 23rd of August 17.00 hrs. Please check whether you can travel to the campus by public transport or by bike on these days. Are you coming by car? Then you can park at P2(van den Broekweg) or P-TNW (van der Maasweg).

Van Der Waalsweg is afgesloten tijdens Owee 2024

Van 18 tot en met 22 augustus vindt in Delft de Introductieweek (OWee) plaats. Tijdens deze dagen worden er in de stad en rondom de campus allerlei evenementen georganiseerd voor de aankomende eerstejaars studenten van Delft. Met deze evenementen hopen we dat de nieuwe studenten de campus, elkaar en de stad beter leren kennen. Zodat ze een goede start kunnen maken met een nieuwe fase in hun leven!

Gedurende deze week wordt het parkeerterrein aan de Van Der Waalsweg gebruikt voor verschillende evenementen zoals het Openingsfeest en de Cantus Sing-Along. Het parkeerterrein aan de Van Der Waalsweg is afgesloten van woensdag 14 augustus 17.00 uur tot vrijdag 23 augustus 17.00 uur. Controleer of je op deze dagen met het openbaar vervoer of de fiets naar de campus kunt komen. Kom je met de auto? Dan kun je parkeren op P2(van den Broekweg) of P-TNW (van der Maasweg).

Check if you can still get care allowance and/or rent benefit. Don’t leave any money lying around and apply by 1 September at the latest.

Many students never check whether they are entitled to benefits such as care allowance or housing benefit. For example, because they think they are not entitled to a grant. This is a shame, because students are missing out on dozens of euros a month. You might be one of them.

Applications for health care and/or housing benefit can be made retrospectively. This means that you can apply for care and/or rent allowance for the previous year up to and including 1 September.

So, before you go on your summer holiday, make a test calculation at toeslagen.nl/kaniktoeslagkrijgen and apply for your benefit(s) by 1 September at the latest.

Laatste actie voor je zomervakantie!

Check of jij nog zorg- en/of huurtoeslag kunt krijgen. Laat geen geld liggen en vraag het uiterlijk 1 september aan.

Veel studenten checken nooit of ze recht hebben op toeslagen, zoals zorg- of huurtoeslag. Bijvoorbeeld omdat ze denken dat ze niet in aanmerking komen voor een toeslag. Zonde, want daarmee laten studenten tientallen euro’s per maand liggen. Misschien geldt dat ook voor jou.

Het aanvragen van zorg- en/of huurtoeslag kan met terugwerkende kracht. Dat betekent dat je nog tot en met 1 september zorg- en/of huurtoeslag kunt aanvragen over vorig jaar.

Dus doe nog één laatste actie voordat je zomervakantie begint: maak een proefberekening op toeslagen.nl/kaniktoeslagkrijgen en vraag uiterlijk 1 september je toeslag(en) aan.

Geen treinen tussen Den Haag HS en Rotterdam Centraal tijdens de herkansingsweek

Vanaf zaterdag 13 t/m donderdag 25 juli rijden er door werkzaamheden geen treinen tussen Den Haag HS en Rotterdam Centraal. In plaats daarvan zijn er bussen beschikbaar. Houd rekening met extra reistijd. Plan je reis kort voor vertrek met de reisplanner voor het meest actuele advies.
