Theaterproductie Getekend / Theatre production ‘Getekend’
Getekend is een theaterproductie over studenten in Delft tijdens de Duitse bezetting. TU Delft studenten organiseren en spelen dit stuk.
In mei 2015 spelen we vijf voorstellingen in het Auditorium. Het stuk is geïnspireerd op het boek ‘Loyaliteit in verdrukking’ van Onno Sinke. Reinier Noordzy (script), Albert van Andel (regie) en Jeroen van de Laar (toneelbeeld) vormen het professioneel artistiek team. Begin 2015 zijn de audities. In februari starten de repetities.
Blackboard Upgrade – 19-21 December
Due to a planned upgrade Blackboard is not available from Friday evening December 19th (18:00 hrs) until Sunday night December 21st. During the Blackboard upgrade Osiris and all other systems can be reached as normal.

Werk mee aan de eerste circuitracer op waterstof! / Help building the first hydrogen powered circuit racer!
Het Forze Hydrogen Electric Racing Team biedt jou de kans om mee te werken aan het ontwerpen en bouwen van een circuitracer op waterstof. Lijkt dit jou wat? Kom dan naar de interesseborrel op woensdag 17 december tussen 16:00 en 20:00 uur in de D:Dreamhall, Stevinweg 4.
Forze Hydrogen Racing Team Delft is een waterstof raceteam dat zich focust op het promoten van waterstof als alternatieve brandstof door het bouwen van raceauto’s. Op dit moment zijn wij bezig met het ontwikkelen van de Forze VI. Deze circuitracer kan een vermogen leveren van 190 kW (260 pk) waarmee wij een topsnelheid van 220 km/h kunnen halen en versnellen van 0-100 in 4 seconden. Dit academisch jaar gaan wij door met het ontwikkelen van deze auto met als doel het ronde record voor waterstof elektrische auto’s op de Nürburgring Nordschleife te verbreken.

The Forze Hydrogen Racing Team Delft focuses on promoting hydrogen as an alternative fuel by building race cars. Currently we are developing the Forze VI. This racer has a peak power output of 190 kW (260 bhp) which enables us to reach a top speed of 220 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. This academic year we will continue developing the Forze VI with the goal of beating the lap record for hydrogen electric vehicles on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

ICT Onderhoudsweekend 29 en 30 november / ICT maintenance weekend on 29 and 30 November
In dit onderhoudsweekend vinden diverse werkzaamheden plaats die grote impact hebben op de beschikbaarheid van het TU-netwerk (vast en draadloos), veel ICT-diensten (o.a. SharePoint, Weblogin en E-mail) en applicaties (o.a. Blackboard, Osiris, TIM, PeopleSoft, Business Objects). De werkzaamheden starten vrijdag 28 november om 18.00 uur en duren tot zondag 30 november middernacht.

Op 26 november 2014 vindt aan de TU de Student Research Conference plaats. De Student Research Conference (SRC) is een terugkerende conferentie voor bacheloronderzoek. In de vorm van een poster of presentatie wordt Nederlands en Vlaams bacheloronderzoek gepresenteerd aan een jury van hoogleraren en aan het publiek. Aan de conferentie is een award gekoppeld voor het beste bacheloronderzoek, de Student Research Award. Deze prijs zal dit jaar uitgereikt worden door minister Bussemaker!

On November 26th of this year, students from universities and universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands and Flanders, will present their undergraduate research. This year the Student Research Conference (SRC) will take place at the Delft University of Technology. A committee consisting of academic experts has reviewed all papers and selected only the best papers to be presented at the SRC 2014. The selected students will present their undergraduate research at the conference, either in a poster presentation or during a workshop session. The winners of the SRC will also be awarded a prize, the Student Research Award!
Besides the research presentations by students, there will be interesting keynote lectures as well. Well-known Dutch Professors Leo Kouwenhoven and Lotte Jensen will share their enthusiasm for research. If you are interested in the SRC, register on: www.VSNU.nl/SRC

Alert Online: weet wat je doet!
In Nederland zijn we steeds vaker en langer online. Op het werk, op school, thuis of onderweg. Met onze telefoon, tablet of computer. Gelukkig zijn we ons steeds meer bewust dat dit risico’s met zich meebrengt. Zo kunnen we met één muisklik onbedoeld onze eigen computer of zelfs een heel netwerk besmetten. Of creditcardgegevens uit handen geven aan criminelen. Recent in het nieuws was de grote hack waarbij Russische criminelen ruim een miljard inloggegevens, waaronder 1,3 miljoen e-mailadressen eindigende op .nl, hebben weten te bemachtigen. Alert zijn op de risico’s is dus belangrijk.
Maar weten we ook wat we kunnen doen om de risico’s te verminderen? Van 27 oktober tot en met 6 november 2014 organiseert de Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding en Veiligheid (NCTV) voor de derde keer de landelijke campagne Alert Online. Alert Online, een gezamenlijk initiatief van overheid, bedrijfsleven en wetenschap helpt om de kennis over online veiligheid te vergroten. Op security.tudelft.nl vind je onder het menu Werk Veilig onder andere campagnefilmpjes en tips en tricks om veilig online te kunnen blijven.

Alert Online: know what you’re doing!
In the Netherlands, people are online more often and for longer periods than ever before. At work, at school, at home or en route, using our cell phones, tablets or computers. Fortunately, people are becoming increasingly aware of the associated risks. We know that with a simple mouse-click, we could accidentally infect our computer or even an entire network or give criminals our credit card details. Recently in the news was the major hacking incident in which Russian criminals stole over a billion internet login credentials, including 1.3 million e-mail addresses ending in .nl. So it is very important to be aware of the risks.
But, do we know what we can do to minimise risks? From 27 October to 6 November 2014 the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) will be hosting the campaign Alert Online, for the third consecutive year. Alert Online is a joint initiative of the government, the business community and the world of science to help increase knowledge about online security. Go to security.tudelft.nl and click on the Keep it Safe menu to find campaign videos and tips and tricks to remain safe online.
Typical Dutch books… in your language! / Oer-Nederlandse boeken in verschillende talen
TU Delft Library’s Language Library has been renewed. The collection now consists of more than 150 translated books of Dutch literature. It contains over 35 different languages, ranging from Chinese to Macedonian and Greek to Russian.
Learn more about the Dutch culture
This collection gives international students and staff from TU Delft the chance to get more acquainted with the Dutch culture by reading books from popular Dutch authors like Maarten ‘t Hart, Tessa de Loo and Joost Zwagerman. If you are learning Dutch you can simultaneously read the book in your language and in Dutch. The Language Library can be found near red and black train benches as of 2 October.

On Wednesday 1 October 2014 the renewed Language Library will be opened festively with language workshops and drinks. The opening will start at 17:00 in the Hive. More information
This new Language Library is the result of a cooperation between the Dutch Foundation for Literature, the TU Delft Library and Tandem Delft.

Leer lezenderwijs een andere taal
Ben je bezig een nieuwe taal te leren? Dan kun je deze Nederlandse boeken in een andere taal gaan lezen met de Nederlandse uitvoering ernaast. Deze nieuwe collectie bevat Nederlandse boeken vertaald in 35 talen. De Language Library kun je vanaf 2 oktober vinden bij de treinbanken in de hal.

Op woensdag 1 oktober 2014 wordt de vernieuwde Language Library feestelijk geopend met taalworkshops en drankjes. De opening zal om 17:00 beginnen in The Hive. Meer informatie
