Smoke-free campus as of 1 August 2020
The TU Delft campus will be completely smoke-free as of 1 August 2020. This means that smoking will be banned throughout the campus. A map of the smoke-free area as of 1 August 2020 is shown below. The ban is valid 24/7 and will also apply to e-cigarettes. The smoking facilities on the campus will be removed before 1 August 2020. Smoking had already been banned in most of the buildings.
The smoking ban applies to all teaching sites in the Netherlands. This nationwide ban represents another step towards a smoke-free generation. The smoking ban is in line with the broader TU Delft policy aiming to create a healthy work and study environment.
Want to quit smoking?
Smokers are warmly invited to use this momentum to help them quit smoking. In the next few months, TU Delft will encourage and help staff and students in their attempts to kick the habit. For more info: go to www.tudelft.nl/ikstop

Update 28 January 2020: TU Delft following instructions from authorities
As previously communicated, there has been an outbreak of a new virus in China, the Corona virus, since the beginning of December 2019. Measures have been taken to prevent contamination, such as a travel ban in the Hubei province.
If you have planned a trip to or are currently in China, keep an eye on this website (in Dutch) and follow the advice of the National Coordination Centre for Travellers (in Dutch) and the World Health Organisation (in English).
At this moment we would advise you not to travel to China. If you have recently been to China, phone your family doctor and follow any medical advice; also report this to your supervisor or study advisor.
Generally speaking, it is always advisable to maintain personal hygiene and to wash your hands often and properly. More information can also be found on the website of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
TU Delft will actively keep track of the news, follow instructions from health authorities and make the necessary preparations behind the scenes.
We will keep you informed as necessary; check the latest student news for updates.
In case of further questions, please consult our Q&A or contact 015 278 9111.
Unsafe situation at Stieltjestower due to strong wind
Due to the strong wind, a facade plate (cladding) of the Stieltjestower was blown away. For this reason, the Stieltjesweg is closed from the Schoemakerstraat to the SPAR. The SPAR is still accessible.
Due to the weather situation, it is not possible for the owner of the building to repair the facade immediately. Repair is only possible when the wind subsides.
It is not yet known when the road will be cleared. Depending on the wind force and wind direction, the roadblock can still be moved accordingly.
P Aula can only be reached via the P Sports entrance and continue along the Civil Engineering and Geoscience faculty building (see road map).
