Good morning, Vietnam! – Hanoi Symposium 2016
Five internationally minded TU Delft students are invited to the 7th University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS). Are you one of them?
On the 1st of August, 2016, over 1,000 delegates from more than 60 countries will come together to learn from internationally-renowned humanitarian experts, participate in workshops organized by various United Nations agencies and do fieldwork in Hanoi. This program will give young people the opportunity to develop their international network, expand their worldview and become globally-minded leaders.
You will be joined by internationally-renowned speakers such as the American Nobel Peace Prize finalist Tim Peters, several TED speakers and founders of successful international NGOs. The USLS speakers will share their knowledge and experience with current world problems and hope inspire delegates to search for solutions.

What would you teach international freshers?

TU Delft TV: Build a watersensor
New TU Delft TV episode alert! This one covers the story of Rolf Hut, teacher of the course ‘Measuring water’. During this course he challenges his students to build a measuring device for water with only the little pieces of electronics he provides them.
The criteria to pass the course are rather simple, if you succeed you pass, if you fail you don’t. Watch the episode to see what sort of devices the students of the course built..
Celebrating the female side of things
Do us a favour and look around you for a moment. How many women do you see? None? A few? Plenty? If you answered ‘plenty’, we’re guessing you’re at Architecture or Industrial Design Engineering. As you know, female students are sometimes a bit outnumbered at TU Delft. Even more reason to value them!
On the 8th of March, the world celebrates International Women’s Day 2016. Sports & Culture extends this celebration to the whole month: so let us introduce you to the range of activities.
Rate your study, participate in the National Student Survey
Every year, the National Student Survey (Nationale Studenten Enquete, or NSE, in Dutch) lets students across the country rate their study: from your course programme to housing and study facilities at your university. The survey closes on March 6th, so this is the last week to let your voice be heard.
At TU Delft, we use the results of the NSE to make further improvements. For instance, after last year’s NSE we improved our on-campus wifi connection. Together with more study spaces being added, it enables more students to study at more locations on-campus.
We’re all proud of our university, but there’s always room for improvement! Let us know where to find it.
‘New Space: Launching Entrepreneurship’, VSV Leonardo da Vinci annual symposium

Every year, only a handful of people visit space. Billions of people, however, use space-related technology on a daily basis. Just like the access to airspace in the past, the access to space is undergoing a major shift. At first only accessible for government, military and scientific purposes, our airspace is also being used for commercial purposes nowadays. Outer space seems to be moving in that very same direction. This creates exciting opportunities for entrepreneurs to start new ambitious companies operating in the ‘New Space’ domain. At the TU Delft, you can make yourself heard and participate in the Central Student Council or your Faculty Student Council. If you are interested, this is your moment, because they are all looking for you!
