As a bachelor student you will specialise in your own field or broaden your academic knowledge by following a minor programme in the first semester of your third bachelor year. TU Delft offers more than 40 thematic minors. You also have access to minors from Leiden and Rotterdam Universities, as well as the opportunity to set up your own self-composed minor. We advise you to consult the total overview before 1 April to take a good look at what is available and to check if your preferred thematic minors are open to you. You should use the admission matrix for this.

To be able to make the best choice you are invited to join the TU Delft online minor event which will take place on 31 March 2021 from 12:30-17:30. Before joining the event, please carefully read the relevant information on tudelft.nl/minor and choose your favourite minor(s) on the website. You can easily participate the information sessions by clicking on the minor of your interest via the links which will be published on the Minor Event page.

Interested in a minor at Erasmus University Rotterdam or Leiden University? Join the Erasmus Minor event on 25 March or the Leiden Minor event on 30 March.

From 15 March Pulse will be open every day of the week between 8:30-20:30 for studying (till now there was only evening shift). This is a temporary situation, once education on campus is permitted again, Pulse building will be used for education.

Pulse will be open between 8:30-20:30 on Good Friday (2 April) and Easter Monday (5 April) as well as during the exam weeks. (see academic calendar.)

Overview all study places available

The electing of members of the Central Student Council (SC) and the Faculty Student Councils (FSC) will take place online via the website https://stem.tudelft.nl on Wednesday 2 June 2021 from 8.00 a.m. up to and including Thursday 3 June 2021 until 5.00 p.m.

Consulting the electoral registers
Both the electoral registers for the FSC elections and the SC can be looked into from 15 March 2021 until 22 March 2021 until 5.00 p.m. online via website https://stem.tudelft.nl.

Interested parties may lodge objections with the Executive Board via JZ@tudelft.nl until one week after the names have been announced.

Submission of candidate lists SC and FSC

Candidate lists may be submitted to the Central Student Council (SC) and to the Faculty Student Council (FSC) from 15 March 2021 until 29 March 2021 5.00 p.m. 

Attention:

Every student who is entitled to vote can nominate himself for the Central Student Council (SC) and Faculty Student Councils (FSC). The nomination will take place as follows. To take part in the elections you have to hand in a candidate list to the secretary of the election committee. The candidate list must be supported by at least 10 persons who are eligible to vote for the SC and by at least 5 persons who are entitled to vote for the FSC. Every candidate has to fill in a written declaration, in which he/she accepts his/her nomination on the candidate list.

Due to the COVID-19 measures, this year the process regarding the candidate lists will take place online.

The candidate proposition forms may be obtained as of 15 March 2021 from the relevant central or facultative election committee (see overview below). The deadline for the submission of the candidate list is 29 March 2021 5.00 p.m. To ensure that the checking and processing of the candidate lists goes smoothly the election committee requests that the lists of candidates be handed in preferably before the final date.

Verkiezingen SR en FSR

De verkiezingen van de leden van de Studentenraad (SR) en de Facultaire Studentenraden (FSR) vinden dit jaar online plaats via de website https://stem.tudelft.nl op woensdag 2 juni 2021 vanaf 8:00 uur doorlopend tot en met donderdag 3 juni 2021 17:00 uur.

Inzage kiesregisters
Het kiesregister kun je dit jaar vanaf 15 maart 2021 tot en met 22 maart 2021 uiterlijk 17.00 uur raadplegen via de website https://stem.tudelft.nl

Belanghebbenden kunnen binnen een week na de bekendmaking bezwaar aantekenen bij het College van Bestuur via: jz@tudelft.nl

Indienen kandidatenlijsten SR en FSR
Vanaf 15 maart 2021 tot en met 29 maart 2021 tot 17:00 uur bestaat de mogelijkheid voor het indienen van een kandidatenlijst voor de Centrale Studentenraad (SR) en de Facultaire Studentenraden (FSR).

LET OP:

Iedere kiesgerechtigde student kan zich kandidaat stellen voor de Centrale Studentenraad (SR) en de Facultaire Studentenraad (FSR). De kandidaatstelling gaat als volgt. Om deel te kunnen nemen aan de verkiezingen dient een kandidatenlijst met een of meer kandidaten ingediend te worden bij de secretaris van de verkiezingscommissie. Deze kandidatenlijst dient ondersteund te worden door ten minste 10 kiesgerechtigden voor de SR en ten minste 5 kiesgerechtigden voor de FSR. Tevens dient iedere kandidaat een bewilligingsverklaring in te vullen, waarop hij/zij zich formeel kandidaat stelt voor de betreffende kandidatenlijst.

Gezien de maatregelen rondom COVID-19 zal het proces met betrekking tot de kandidatenlijsten dit jaar digitaal plaatsvinden.

De kandidaatstellingsformulieren kan men vanaf 15 maart 2021 opvragen bij de betreffende centrale c.q. facultaire verkiezingscommissies (zie onderstaand overzicht). De deadline voor het indienen van de kandidatenlijsten is 29 maart 2021 om 17:00 uur. Om de controle en de verwerking van de kandidatenlijsten soepel te laten verlopen verzoekt de verkiezingscommissie de kandidatenlijsten eerder in te leveren.

Meer dan 2000 studenten aan de TU zijn gediagnosticeerd met een functiebeperking, van dyslexie tot spierziektes. Er zijn nog veel meer studenten die ergens mee worstelen waardoor ze niet op de standaard manier hun studie kunnen doorlopen, of ze nou gediagnosticeerd zijn of niet.

Student Onbeperkt organiseert van 15 t/m 19 maart de Onbeperkt Studeren week om aandacht te geven aan anders studeren. Wat zijn de ontwikkelingen binnen de TU op het gebied van begeleiding? Wat is de landelijk wetgeving? Wat kan je zelf doen? Sluit je aan bij een van de lunchlezingen van 12:45 tot 13:30!

• Maandag 15e: Presentatie nieuw beleid op Studeren met een Functiebeperking
  Stephanie Meulemans (TU Delft) geeft een presentatie over het beleidsplan rondom studeren met een functiebeperking om studenten te informeren wat de toekomst biedt.
• Dinsdag 16e: Getting things done: The art of stress-free productivity
  Studeren brengt een hoop stress met zich mee. De Getting Things Done methode is een manier van plannen die helpt om overzicht te houden, stress te verminderen en het maximale uit jezelf te halen.
• Woensdag 17e: Waar vind ik informatie? Rechten en transitie naar de arbeidsmarkt
  Waar kan ik terecht voor tips en informatie? En hoe gaat de transitie naar de arbeidsmarkt na mijn studentenleven? Landelijk expertisecentrum ECIO geeft antwoord op deze vragen en meer.
• Woensdag 17e 12:00-13:00, Designsessie met docenten, simpele stappen voor inclusief studeren
  In deze designsessie gaat Student Onbeperkt om de tafel met docenten om samen naar kleine oplossingen te zoeken het leven voor studenten en docenten makkelijker maken.
• Donderdag 18e: Unieke functiebeperkingen en aanvragen unieke voorzieningen
  Studenten die worstelen met een functiebeperking die niet vaak voorkomt, vallen vaak buiten de boot. Donderdag hebben we een bijeenkomst voor deze studenten, om ervaringen te delen en advies te vragen.
• Vrijdag 19e: Ontdek je flow
  Hoe breng je jezelf in een productieve flow? Wat kan je zelf doen en waar vind je ondersteuning? Wouter Jansen van de Flowley podcasts geeft samen met studentenpsycholoog Jan van Beek handvaten om jezelf te ontwikkelen.

In the current academic year, TU Delft has 80 students with elite athlete status. In addition to up-and-coming talents, they include Dutch, European and world champions and Olympic athletes. Two of these top athletes are motocross driver Stephanie Stoutjesdijk and rower Ralf Rienks. For the platform Let’s Talk about X from X TU Delft, they gave an insight into life as a student and top athlete in times of this pandemic in a special podcast.

Stephanie is a motocross driver and combines racing at World Championships with a master studies in Clinical Technology. Ralf Rienks is a rower for the Dutch Rowing Team and does his master in Biomechanical Technology. How do they combine study with sports? What are their goals? And how do they experience this challenging period and its struggles?

In this podcast Stephanie and Ralf tell you all about combining study, sports and the corona pandemic. How do they deal with all the uncertainties it brings and how do they keep disciplined in study and sport? The magic word: routine! Sport provides Stephanie and Ralf with a daily, weekly and monthly structure. By having a goal in mind and not throwing in the towel when it gets a bit hard, they keep their heads clear and bodies strong. This and many other tips about nutrition and lifestyle are being discussed in this podcast. Useful insights that can also be used in your day-to-day life!

Let’s Talk About ‘X’ – podcast
Let’s talk about ‘X’ is a platform that provides an (online) “meeting space” twice a month. Each edition focuses on a different theme, such as art, culture, technology, politics, society, music, science, and psychology. Often, a guest speaker will join the conversation. Now that the vaccination against the corona virus has started we are on the way to a more ‘normal’ situation. What does this mean for education? The TU Delft together with other education institutions is participating in a pilot to gain insight into what needs to happen in the different sectors (WO-HBO-MBO) to get more on campus education. The pilots within the TU Delft are aimed at:

• make practicals possible that would otherwise not be possible because the of 1.5 meter rule can’t be observed.
• facilitate extra study workplaces in the Library in a safe way.
• to test whether taking exams on campus with large groups of students, as is already being done at the University of Groningen by making use of rapid tests, can be translated to TU Delft and gain experience in it.

Verkennen van de mogelijkheden voor meer onderwijs op de campus

Met de start van het vaccineren tegen corona zijn we op weg naar meer ‘normale’ bewegingsruimte. Wat betekent dat voor ons onderwijs? De TU Delft doet samen met andere onderwijsinstellingen mee aan een pilot om te inzicht bieden in wat er moet gebeuren om in de verschillende sectoren (WO-HBO-MBO) tot meer fysiek onderwijs te kunnen overgaan. De pilots binnen de TU Delft zijn er op gericht om:

• practica mogelijk te maken die anders niet mogelijk zouden zijn omdat de grens van 1,5 meter niet in acht kan worden genomen,
• op een veilige manier extra studiewerkplekkenin de Library te faciliteren,
• te toetsen of het afleggen van tentamens op campus met grote groepen studenten tegelijkertijd, zoals bij de Rijks Universiteit Groningen al wordt gedaan met vooraf sneltesten, te vertalen is naar de TU Delft en daar ervaring mee op te doen.
