Typical Dutch books… in your language! / Oer-Nederlandse boeken in verschillende talen

TU Delft Library’s Language Library has been renewed. The collection now consists of more than 150 translated books of Dutch literature. It contains over 35 different languages, ranging from Chinese to Macedonian and Greek to Russian.

Learn more about the Dutch culture
This collection gives international students and staff from TU Delft the chance to get more acquainted with the Dutch culture by reading books from popular Dutch authors like Maarten ‘t Hart, Tessa de Loo and Joost Zwagerman. If you are learning Dutch you can simultaneously read the book in your language and in Dutch. The Language Library can be found near red and black train benches as of 2 October.

Come to the opening!
On Wednesday 1 October 2014 the renewed Language Library will be opened festively with language workshops and drinks. The opening will start at 17:00 in the Hive. More information

This new Language Library is the result of a cooperation between the Dutch Foundation for Literature, the TU Delft Library and Tandem Delft.

Leer lezenderwijs een andere taal
Ben je bezig een nieuwe taal te leren? Dan kun je deze Nederlandse boeken in een andere taal gaan lezen met de Nederlandse uitvoering ernaast. Deze nieuwe collectie bevat Nederlandse boeken vertaald in 35 talen. De Language Library kun je vanaf 2 oktober vinden bij de treinbanken in de hal.

Kom naar de opening!
Op woensdag 1 oktober 2014 wordt de vernieuwde Language Library feestelijk geopend met taalworkshops en drankjes. De opening zal om 17:00 beginnen in The Hive. Meer informatie

Deze nieuwe Language Library is het resultaat van de samenwerking tussen het Nederlands Letterenfonds, TU Delft Library en Tandem Delft.

The TEDxDelft Award is Back

Would you like to have the opportunity to speak at TEDxDelft 2015? This is your chance. The TEDxDelft Award offers students and PHD candidates a platform to share their idea (worth sharing). The award is not only a onetime event, but a complete track. Part of this track are several workshops to help participants develop their idea and their pitching skills. During the final the different pitches will compete for the award and a wildcard giving the winners the chance to spread their idea at TEDxDelft 2015: an event with an audience of over a thousand.

Energy Club organizes Masterclass European Energy Policy

In the framework of the European elections the Energy Club organizes a masterclass  European energy policy on Monday, May 19th 15:00 – 18:30 Room A, TPM faculty.

With this masterclass the Energy Club wants to provide students with more insight into the European Energy Policy and what this policy means for the energy sector. In addition, they will provide the four speakers with fresh, open and innovative ideas of students.

The masterclass will cover Energy Policy both broad and specific. First, the institutional context of the European Union will be sketched and an overview of the European Energy Policy topics will be given. The main part of the masterclass will focus on the translation of EU policy to national policies, the role of research in policy development and applications of EU Energy Policy in industry. The guest speakers are the director of FOM, Ingo Bunzeck from ECN, Aart Dekkers (Ministery of Economics Affairs) and Martijn Groenleer, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at TPM faculty.

Join NovaBike in building a Bio-Ethanol powered race motorcycle.

Recruitment for the new NovaBike team has started.

We’re looking for students that want to be a part of our 2014-2015 team. Together with students from all faculties of the TU Delft you’ll take on the challenge to build a bio-ethanol powered racing motorcycle. With this motorcycle you’ll race against professional teams on circuits throughout Europe.

So are you:
– Passionate about motorcycles, combustion engines or racing
– A team-player that wants to work together with students from all over the university
– Looking for a way to combine theory and practice
– Interested in managing a real race-team
